Padi (pronounced [ˈpadi]) is an Indonesian alternative pop/rock band. When the band formed on April 8, 1997, all of its members were still studying at Airlangga University, Surabaya, Indonesia. They are Piyu (lead guitar, backing vocals), Fadly (lead vocals), Ari (guitar), Rindra (bass guitar), and Yoyo (drums).
Their second album, Sesuatu Yang Tertunda (2001), recorded one of the highest domestic sales of music records in Indonesia by selling approximately 1.8 million copies, with 450,000 copies of which sold in just 2 weeks. Padi has sold approximately 3 million records in Indonesia only, as of 2012.
In late 2007, Rolling Stone Indonesia magazine placed 2 of their albums on their "150 Greatest Indonesian Albums of All Time" list. Those are Sesuatu Yang Tertunda at #55 and Save My Soul at #110. In addition, Rolling Stone also put 2 of Padi's songs on the "150 Greatest Indonesian Songs of All Time" list. The songs are "Mahadewi" (#87) and "Sobat" (#109), both came from the debut album Lain Dunia (1999), which isn't included in the magazine's list of Best Albums.
Padi railway station is one of the two, now defunct, railway stations of the extended southern arm of the Chennai Central–Arakkonam section of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network, the other one being Anna Nagar railway station. It served the neighbourhood of Padi, a suburb of Chennai. The station is located at the junction of 100-feet Inner Ring Road—MTH Road, known as the Padi junction.
In 2003, a 3.09 km-long railway line, initially used by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) at Perambur for moving newly built coaches from shell to furnishing division of the factory, was strengthened at a cost of ₹ 72.9 million for operating passenger services. Two new stations, namely, Padi and Anna Nagar, were built and 13 existing bridges were renovated and the work was completed in five months. The railway station and the EMU services were inaugurated by the then Union Minister of State for Railways, A. K. Moorthy. Between 2003 and 2007, five suburban trains were being run from Anna Nagar to Chennai Beach via Villivakkam. In 2007, the service was discontinued due to construction of a rotary at the Padi junction replacing the level-crossing. Though the rotary was completed in 2009, services were not restored. However, in 2011, the railways planned to resume services in this section as a feeder service with six-car EMUs.
Peptidyl arginine deiminase, type I, also known as PADI1, is a protein which in humans is encoded by the PADI1 gene.
This gene encodes a member of the peptidyl arginine deiminase family of enzymes, which catalyze the post-translational deimination of proteins by converting arginine residues into citrullines in the presence of calcium ions. The family members have distinct substrate specificities and tissue-specific expression patterns. The type I enzyme is involved in the late stages of epidermal differentiation, where it deiminates filaggrin and keratin K1, which maintains hydration of the stratum corneum, and hence the cutaneous barrier function. This enzyme may also play a role in hair follicle formation. This gene exists in a cluster with four other paralogous genes.
Invader Zim is an American animated television series created by Jhonen Vasquez and originally aired on Nickelodeon. The recurring cast includes long-term Nickelodeon voice actors Richard Steven Horvitz and Rodger Bumpass, with live-action television actors Kevin McDonald (The Kids in the Hall) and John de Lancie (Star Trek: The Next Generation). Vasquez voices parts in the show. The show was cancelled early in its run and some episodes were unfinished. The show ran for two seasons before its cancellation.
Zim (voiced by Richard Steven Horvitz,Billy West in the pilot and Melissa Fahn as a smeet in "Parent Teacher Night") is an incompetent Irken invader who is foul-tempered, overzealous, impulsive, megalomaniac, and convinced of his own greatness. He dreams of regaining his leaders' trust by taking part in Operation Impending Doom II, so Zim is assigned to Earth, a planet which the Almighty Tallest believe has little to no chance of existing. However, against all odds, Zim makes it to Earth and establishes a base on a fake conquest mission. Because of his very small stature, Zim disguises himself as a human child using a hairpiece to cover his antennae and contact lenses to make his eyes look normal.
In computer science, the Tak function is a recursive function, named after Ikuo Takeuchi (竹内郁雄). It is defined as follows:
This function is often used as a benchmark for languages with optimization for recursion.
The original definition by Takeuchi was as follows:
tarai is short for tarai mawashi, "to pass around" in Japanese.
John McCarthy named this function tak() after Takeuchi.
However, in certain later references, the y somehow got turned into the z. This is a small, but significant difference because the original version benefits significantly by lazy evaluation. Though written in exactly the same manner as others, the Haskell code below runs much faster.
You can easily accelerate this function via memoization yet lazy evaluation still wins.
The best known way to optimize tarai is to use mutually recursive helper function as follows.
Here is an efficient implementation of tarai() in C:
Note the additional check for (x <= y) before z (the third argument) is evaluated, avoiding unnecessary recursive evaluation.
Tak is a town (thesaban mueang) in north-west Thailand, capital of the Tak Province and the Tak district. As of 2005 the town had a population of 19,900 and an area of 7.27 km². It covers the tambon Rahaeng, Nong Luang, Chiang Ngoen, and Hua Diat. It is on the Ping River, 418 km north-north-west of Bangkok.
Tak is on the Ping River, which runs from north to south through the town. While the land to the east is fairly flat, the Tenasserim Hills and Dawna Range lie to the west.
Tak has a tropical savanna climate (Köppen climate classification Aw). Winters are dry and very warm. Temperatures rise until April, which is very hot with the average daily maximum at 38.5 °C (101.3 °F). The monsoon season runs from May through October, with heavy rain and somewhat cooler temperatures during the day, although nights remain warm.
Route 105, through Mae Sot, forms one of two major transnational roads through the Tenasserim Hills to Burma. Route 1, also known as the Phahonyothin Road, passes through Tak. On the north side it leads to Lampang, Chiang Rai, and the border with Burma at Mae Sai. On the south side it leads to Kamphaeng Phet, Nakhon Sawan, and Bangkok. Route 12 leads east to Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Chum Phae, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, and the border with Laos at Mukdahan.
Setiap perkataan yang menjatuhkan tak lagi kudengar dengan sungguh
Juga tutur kata yg mencela
Tak lagi kucerna dalam jiwa
Aku bukanlah seorang yang mengerti
Tentang kelihaian membaca hati
Ku hanya pemimpi kecil
Yang berangan 'tuk merubah nasibnya
O...
Bukankah ku pernah meilhat bintang
Selau menghasi sang malam
Yang berkilau bagai permata
Menghibur yang lelah jiwanya
Yang sedih hatinya
Yang lelah jiwanya
Yang sedih hatinya
Ku gerakkan langkah kaki
Dimana cinta akan bertumbuh
Kulayangkan jauh mata memandang
Tuk melanjutkan mimpi yg terputus
Masih ku coba mengejar rindu
Meski pelun membahasi tanah
Lelah penat tak menghalangiku
Menemukan bahagia
O...
Bukankah ku pernah melihat bintang
Selalu menghiasi sang malam
Yang berkilau bagai permata
Menghibur yang lelah jiwanya
Yang sedih hatinya
Yang lelah jiwanya
Yang sedih hatinya
Yang lelah jiwanya...
O...
Bukankah kubisa melihat bintang
Selalu menghiasi sang malam
Yang berkilau bagai permata
Menghibur yang lelah jiwanya
Bukankah hidup adalah perhentian
Kita harus kencang terus berlari
Kuhelakan nafas panjang
'Tuk siap berlari kembali
Berlari kembali
Melangkahkan kaki
Menuju cahaya
Bagai bintang yang bersinar
Menghibur yang lelah jiwanya
Bagai bintang yang berpijar
Menghibur yang sedih hatinya
