"Out of Tears" is a song by The Rolling Stones featured on their 1994 album Voodoo Lounge.

A ballad, "Out of Tears" is credited to Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, but is largely the work of Jagger[1]. The singer said at the time of release,

There's no set way to write songs. I used to say, "Now we're writing songs. I'm gonna sit at my desk." "Out of Tears" was a little bit like that, where I'm sitting at the piano in Ronnie [Wood]'s studio going "Da da ding, da da ding." Then you go and listen to it, and it's got this really good mood because it's you on your own. No one else is there, and you're creating the mood. There's a very sad mood to that song. The Stones are mainly a guitar band, but I think with a ballad sometimes it's nice to move away from that. And when a song is written on a keyboard, you get a different sort of melodic structure.[1]

Recording took place in 1993 and 1994 at Ronnie Wood's home in Ireland, Sandymount Studios, and A&M Recording Studios in Los Angeles.[1] With Jagger on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Wood and Richards perform electric guitars, with Wood performing the solo; drums are by Charlie Watts; bass by Darryl Jones; piano by Chuck Leavell, organ by Benmont Tench, and percussion by Lenny Castro.[1]

Released as the third single from Voodoo Lounge, "Out of Tears" reached number 60 in the US and number 36 in the UK.[citation needed] It was performed throughout the 1994-1995 Voodoo Lounge Tour,[citation needed] but as of 2007 had yet to be included on any live albums or compilations.

OUT OF TEARS

by: Hanna Pakarinen

Here I am
I feel so cold
In this storm of sorrow
Siberian winter occupies my soul
I've made up my mind
Everything's said
I'm heading off tomorrow
The spell is broken yeah - He's got to go
You crushed my heart
So don't bother trying to hurt me anymore
I'm out of tears
I just can't cry no more
I'm out of tears
With this desolated heart - I'd rather be alone
I'm out of tears
No turning back
Got to hold on
I'm armed with a bow and arrow
the memory of you
could make me weak
You crushed my heart
So don't bother trying to hurt me anymore
I'm out of tears
I just can't cry no more
I'm out of tears
With this desolated heart - I'd rather be alone
I'm out of tears
So you linger in defeat
You can't hold me down, no no
I'm out of tears
I just can't cry no more
I'm out of tears
With this desolated heart - I'd rather be alone
I'm out of tears
I just can't cry no more
I'm out of tears
With this desolated heart - I'd rather be alone
