"Out of Touch" is a 1984 song by Hall & Oates. This lead single from their 1984 album Big Bam Boom was their last Billboard Hot 100 number one, topping the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks in December 1984. It became the duo's fourteenth consecutive top 40 hit since 1980.[1]

"Out of Touch" was covered by Uniting Nations in 2004 and was featured on the compilation CDs Summer Hits 2005, Floorfillers Club Classics and Floorfillers 3 amongst others. Uniting Nations' version peaked at #7 on the UK Singles Chart and remained in the Top 75 for twenty-one weeks.

The song featured in the 2002 console game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City on the radio station Flash FM, and also in the 2008 console game Saints Row 2 on the radio station The Mix 107.77.

John Oates wrote the refrain, "You're Out Of Touch, I'm Out of Time but I'm Out of my head when you're not around." He and Hall collaborated on the music and the rest of the lyrics.[citation needed]

The song often segued from "Dance On Your Knees" which is the opening song of the album. The music video also contains the "Dance On Your Knees" intro, but the song was the dance remix version.

Out Of Touch

by: Alex Parks

Sleep, my baby
The planets line up in your mind
As you sleep, my baby
Your soul's in line you?ll be just fine
So sort out
Guess what I?m out of touch
You?re out of reach, my darling
You?re safe in sleep
Could I leave you? Step by step
You?re out my reach
I felt pain once
Hurt you, out of touch
Turn away now
I hear you cry, you?re lost in time as I
Start to fly now
Your soul is mine I?ll be just fine
I soared up
Got swallowed out of touch
You?re out of reach, my darling
You?re safe in sleep
Could I leave you? Step by step
You?re out my reach
I felt pain once
Put you out of touch
Put you out of touch
I?ll apologize
Guilty as no surprise
You?re out of reach, my darling
You?re safe in sleep
Could I leave you? Step by step
You?re out my reach
I felt pain once
Put you out of touch
Put you out of touch
