Against Their Will may refer to:
Against Their Will is an American rock/heavy metal band from North Carolina.
With origins traced back to 2006, they officially launched in 2010. In 2011, prior to releasing an EP, their single "Hellward Bound" gained airplay on several international radio programs. In the following month, the song pushed the band to chart at #23 on Germany's top 200 bands in underground radio. The band has often been noted for maintaining a military-themed image, as well as uplifting patriotic messages in their songs.
In November 2013, the band released their EP "American Stratofortress". On June 26, 2015, they independently released a new single titled "RED". A respective lyric video immediately followed the song's release.
Against Their Will... The History and Geography of Forced Migrations in the USSR is a historical research book by Pavel Polyan, published by the Memorial society. It is the first comprehensive study of all massive-scale forced migrations within the Soviet Union. The book is based on published materials and archival data made public. It contains a large number of summary tables.
The table of contents gives a fair summary of the book.
Against may refer to:
Against is the seventh studio album by the Brazilian metal band Sepultura, released in 1998 through Roadrunner Records. It is the band's first release with new frontman Derrick Green, who replaced group founder Max Cavalera in 1997.
The album shows strong elements of world music. It also uses elements of several other genres including hardcore punk, crossover thrash, groove metal, death metal, experimental metal, alternative metal and nu metal.
Like Roots that preceded it, the album has a variety of guest musicians and incorporates tribal influences – Japanese percussion elements are added with the assistance of Japanese taiko group Kodo.
The songs "Against", "Choke" and "Tribus" were released as singles, with a music video accompanying "Choke". The video featured footage from the Barulho Contra Fome (Noise Against Hunger) concert that was the first gig of the Against tour. This performance included guest appearances from the Xavantes tribe, who had featured on Roots (as documented in the "Choke" video) as well as Mike Patton, Jason Newsted, Carlinhos Brown, original Sepultura guitarist Jairo Guedz and Coffin Joe (whose "blessing" of the band performed during this concert turned up as a B-side entitled "Prenúncio" on the Tribus EP).
Against (styled as AgainST) is a Crossover thrash band formed in 2006 by singer-songwriter Dan Clements, original Suicidal Tendencies members Grant Estes, Louiche Mayorga and Amery Smith and former No Mercy vocalist Kevin Guercio.
In 2006 Louiche Mayorga started a compilation album project with another bands from Venice, California. Just a few days later he met by chance with Grant Estes and Amery Smith, he told them about the project and they instantaneously accepted to join it. Mayorga recorded some tapes and sent them to Dan Clements (Excel founding member and frontman) who called him that same night to form new band together. With the line-up complete, the band was called Against. In May 2006 they made two shows at "The Good Hurt Club" in Venice, both concerts were benefits to help launch the compilation album Welcome 2 Venice (disc which continues the previous compilation released in 1985 with songs by their original bands). At the time of going to the studio Mayorga recruited Kevin Guercio (original No Mercy singer) as a second vocalist for the group. They recorded two tracks for Welcome 2 Venice: "Camarillo" (with Clements) and "Roll the Dice" (with Guercio). The entire recording, release and distribution was conducted by Louiche Mayorga's independent label "Built On An Ounce". After the release of the album there were rumors about a possible Excel reunion, however Clements said he had no intentions of reforming the band and did not want anyone to take Against as a return of the group.
Velcra is a Finnish industrial/electronic group, established 2000. Their music features female vocals (both clean and distorted) on a background of heavily distorted guitars and marching beats with heavy use of sample loops.
They soon signed to Virgin Records to release a full-length CD. In 2002, Velcra released their debut CD, Consequences of Disobedience. The singles "Can't Stop Fighting" and "My Law" helped the band rise to No. 5 on the Finnish charts. Velcra also released single CDs for the songs "Big Brother" and "Test Animals". In 2005, the band released their second full-length CD, Between Force and Fate, and the single "Our Will Against Their Will" hit No. 3 on the Finnish charts. Since then, the band has made two more music videos, one for "Memory Loss" and one for "The Bong Song". Between Force and Fate is unlike Consequences of Disobedience in that the band dropped the catchy pop choruses from their music altogether. This gives the album a much heavier sound, which is evident in songs such as "For My Loneliness I Pay". In June 2006, drummer Mikko Herranen left the band to focus on his other band RUST. On 30 May 2007 Velcra released their third album Hadal in Finland and on iTunes. Videos of "Quick and Dirty" and "Dusk Becomes a Dawn" were released in 2007. The latter song has also been released as a single. In early 2008 Tomi Koivusaari left and Timo Hänninen joined the band.
Not as small as they think
No one's property
We're not here to please
We don't owe them anything
Noble is our cause
Justice our reward
I say upon my honor
The battle cannot be lost
Misleadingly it may seem
That their opponent is weak and feeble
but underneath
We have the willpower of steel
The insight, the heart and
the stomach of a king
It's our will against their will
It's our steel against their steel
And shortly
You will see how we separate
the men from the vermins
With your valor on the field
With your concord amongst your peers
We will claim a famous victory
Over the enemies of our righteous people
We are the righteous people
We are not here for disport
Defend our realm our home
And I think foul scorn
Of the invadors of our borders
Fear no sacrifice
Protect our kingdom's life
I lay down for my God
Live and die amongst you all
We're a diamond perfected under pressure
I assure you, we'll make our tyrants fearful
Even with our blood and guts in the dust
We'll continue to pursue what we feel that we must
It's our will against their will
It's our steel against their steel
And shortly
You will see how we separate the men from the vermin
With your valor on the field
With your concord amongst your peers
We will claim a famous victory
Over the enemies of our righteous people
We are the righteous people
Noble is our cause
Justice our reward
