The Land Before Time

The Land Before Time is a 1988 American-Irish animated adventure drama film directed and co-produced by Don Bluth and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Kathleen Kennedy, and Frank Marshall.

Produced by Sullivan Bluth Studios, Amblin Partners's Amblin Entertainment and Lucasfilm (despite not receiving an official credit nor the film's marketing bearing the studio's logo), it features dinosaurs living in the prehistoric times. The plot concerns a young Brontosaurus named Littlefoot who is orphaned when his mother is killed by a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Littlefoot flees famine and upheaval to search for the Great Valley, an area spared from devastation. On his journey, he meets four young companions: Cera, a Triceratops; Ducky, a Saurolophus; Petrie, a Pteranodon; and Spike, a Stegosaurus.

The film explores issues of prejudice between the different species and the hardships they endure in their journey as they are guided by the spirit of Littlefoot's mother and also forced to deal with the murderous Tyrannosaurus Rex that killed her. This is the only Don Bluth film of the 1980s in which Dom DeLuise did not participate (instead, he starred in Disney's Oliver & Company that same year), and the only film in The Land Before Time series that is not a musical, as well as the only one to be released theatrically worldwide.

This is a list of recurring characters in The Land Before Time, a series of animated children's films. The main characters include Littlefoot (Apatosaurus), Cera (Triceratops), Ducky (Saurolophus), Petrie (Pteranodon), Spike (Stegosaurus), and in the spin-off television series, Chomper (Tyrannosaurus) and Ruby (Oviraptor). Other characters include the families of the main characters, the residents of their home, the Great Valley, and outsiders to the Great Valley.

Creation and development

The idea for The Land Before Time and came during production of An American Tail. Steven Spielberg's studio Amblin Entertainment was interested in doing a film about dinosaurs, which were popular at the time, leading Spielberg, director Don Bluth, and producer George Lucas to develop the prehistoric setting and its cast. Inspired by the dinosaur-themed "Rite of Spring" sequence from Disney's Fantasia, Spielberg had originally intended for the movie to have no speech, with music queues and body language telling the story, effectively rendering all the characters mute. However, it was decided that the film couldn't carry a story without dialogue, and each character was given language accordingly. Despite this, the film's artists would still use the Fantasia sequence and characters as guides when creating their the very first concept art.

Dongying Shengli Airport

Dongying Shengli Airport (IATA: DOY, ICAO: ZSDY) is an airport serving the city of Dongying in Shandong Province, China. It is located in the town of Yong'an, and was formerly called Dongying Yong'an Airport (Chinese: 东营永安机场). Construction of the airport was started in May 1984 and completed in October 1985. It was expanded in 2001 and again in 2010. Flights resumed on 28 February 2011 after the latest expansion was completed, and the airport adopted the new name Dongying Shengli Airport, after the Shengli Oil Field in Dongying.

Facilities

After the 2010 expansion the airport has been upgraded from class 4C to 4D, with a 2,800 meter runway, and a 25,380 square-meter terminal building. It is projected to handle 1 million passengers annually by 2020.

Shaan Shahid

Armaghan Shahid (born 27 April 1971), popularly known as Shaan, or Shaan Shahid) is a Pakistani actor, writer, model, and film director. With two decades in Pakistani cinema and around 500 films to his credit – many of them commercially successful. He is one of the most popular face of Lollywood (a name given to Pakistan's Film Industry). – Shaan has established himself as the leading actor of Pakistan. Shaan started his acting career in 1990 by making debut in Javed Fazli's film Bulandi opposite to Reema Khan. Early life and family

Armaghan Shahid better known today as Shaan Shahid was born in Lahore to director Riaz Shahid and television, theatre and film actress Neelo. His father was a Punjabi Muslim whereas his mother was Punjabi Christian who embraced Islam. His paternal uncle Fiaz Shahid was a cameraman and producer for PTV in Islamabad.

Shan (surname)

Shan (simplified Chinese: 单; traditional Chinese: 單; pinyin: Shàn) is a Chinese surname. The origin of this surname is not clear. One explanation is that it came from Shan County in Shandong province. Another possible origin involves King Cheng of Zhou's youngest son's acquisition of the name when he was given what would become the Shan state when the enfeoffment system was enacted during the Zhou Dynasty. The Shan state existed for a few hundred years before it was annexed by a stronger neighbouring state. It was located in present-day Jiyuan, Henan province. Although the surname comes from the place name, the Shan family was a branch of the royal family of the Zhou Dynasty. Its ancient origin determines its rareness and not many people have the Shan surname. According to one unverifiable estimate, about 150,000 people are of the surname.

Shan could also be used to refer to the rare surname . The rare character was unable to be rendered on a computer so people chose Xian 冼 to replace it. People from Gaozhuang Village born after the system change and people who didn't want a hassle with technology were affected. The choice was controversial as some people saw that future generations would forget their name.
