Oroch people

Orochs (Russian О́рочи), Orochons, or Orochis (self-designation: Nani) are a small people of Russia that speak the Oroch (Orochon) language of the Southern group of Tungusic languages. According to the 2002 census there were 686 Orochs in Russia. According to the 2010 census there were 596 Orochs in Russia.

Orochs traditionally settled in the southern part of the Khabarovsk Krai, Russia and on the Amur and Kopp rivers. In the 19th century, some of them migrated to Sakhalin. In the early 1930s, the Orochi National District was created, but was cancelled shortly thereafter "due to lack of native population".

Because the people never had a written language, they were educated in the Russian language. Their language, Oroch, is on the verge of extinction. They follow Shamanism, the Russian Orthodox Church, and Buddhism.

Miyawaki (wrestler)

Miyawaki (stylized in all capital letters, born June 28, 1977) is a Japanese professional wrestler, best known for his work in the Kaientai Dojo and Osaka Pro Wrestling promotions. He has also wrestled in the United States for Chikara and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG).

Professional wrestling career

Miyawaki made his professional wrestling debut in Puerto Rico, facing Super Crazy on October 18, 2001. Upon his return to Japan, he joined the Apache Pro-Wrestling Army promotion, where he spent his first years in the business, before making Kaientai Dojo his new home promotion. Miyawaki won his first professional wrestling title on May 6, 2007, when he and Yoshiya defeated Saburo Inematsu and Yuji Hino for the Strongest-K Tag Team Championship. A year later, Miyawaki won the title for the second time with Kazma.

Miyawaki has also made several wrestling trips to the United States. In February 2006, he took part in Chikara's 2006 Tag World Grand Prix, where he and Yoshiaki Yago made it to the second round before losing to compatriots Kudo and Mikami. Miyawaki and Yago returned to the promotion the following May to unsuccessfully challenge The Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli) for the Chikara Campeonatos de Parejas. In February 2007, Miyawaki took part in Chikara's first-ever King of Trios tournament, where he, Yago and Kudo made it all the way to the finals, before losing to Jigsaw, Mike Quackenbush and Shane Storm. A year later, Miyawaki, Kudo and Susumu made it to the quarterfinals of the 2008 King of Trios tournament, before losing to Eddie Kingston, Joker and Ruckus. The following July, Miyawaki made his debut for Southern California-based Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), teaming with Kazma in a three-way tag team match, where they were defeated by The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson).

Warriors Orochi

Warriors Orochi (無双OROCHI, Musō Orochi) is a beat 'em up video game for PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360, developed by Koei and Omega Force. It is a crossover of two of Koei's popular video game series, Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors (specifically Dynasty Warriors 5 and Samurai Warriors 2) and the first title in the Warriors Orochi series.

The game was released on March 21, 2007 in Japan, September 18 in the United States, September 21 in Europe, September 27 in Australia and September 28 in New Zealand. The game came out for the Xbox 360 in Japan on September 13, and the UK version came out on the same date as the PlayStation 2 version in the United States. The game was ported to the PlayStation Portable, released in Japan on February 2008, March 25 in the US, and March 28 in the UK. A PC version was released in the US on March 25, 2008.

Plot

The fictional events of the game begin when the Serpent King Orochi created a rift in time and space. By creating a twisted new world and bringing together warriors from the Three Kingdoms era of China and the Warring States period of Japan (more than 1,000 years apart in history), Orochi wished to test the might of the warriors of these two eras.

People!

People! was a one-hit wonder rock band that was formed in San Jose, California in 1965. Their greatest chart success came with their summer hit single "I Love You". The song, written by The Zombies bass guitarist Chris White, rose to number one in Japan (twice), Israel, Australia, Italy, South Africa, and the Philippines, and peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 in June 1968. At various times, band members have included Robb Levin, Geoff Levin, Albert Ribisi, John Riolo, David Anderson, Larry Norman, Gene Mason, Denny Fridkin, Tom Tucker, Bruce Thomas Eason (as Scott Eason), John Tristao, Steve Boatwright, and Rob Thomas. On October 19, 2007, People! was inducted into the San Jose Rocks Hall of Fame.

Scientology connection

After all of the band members except lead singers Norman and Mason embraced Scientology, Norman claimed other members of the band issued the ultimatum: Join Scientology or leave the band. Norman and Mason both refused. Some band members indicate that Norman was asked to leave the band because he was seen as a "Suppressive Person". Norman claimed that he was harassed by other members of Scientology.

People (Australian magazine)

People is a fortnightly Australian lad's mag published by Bauer Media Group. It has been published since 1950. It is not to be confused with the gossip magazine known by that name in the United States; that magazine is published under the name Who in Australia.

People focuses on celebrity interviews and scandal, glamour photography, sex stories sent in by readers, puzzles, crosswords, and a jokes page.

People was reportedly the first weekly magazine in Australia to feature topless models.

History

People was first published in 1950; it covered "everything from news, to scandals, to true crime stories."

Pix, a weekly men's magazine, merged with People in 1972.

People magazine started a "Covergirl of the Year" quest in the early 80s with Samantha Fox an early winner. The 1985 winner was Carolyn Kent. People had a deliberate policy of searching for "average Aussie birds" from 1985 onwards, trying to veer away from a reliance on U.K. Page 3 girl pictorials (though Page 3 girls still appeared, and indeed, Tracey Coleman was named Covergirl of the year in 1992 and 1994). Mostly scouted by and photographed by Walter Glover, many popular "average" girls became very popular and frequent cover girls. These include Lynda Lewis, Lisa Russell, Narelle Nixon, Melinda Smith, Raquel Samuels, Tanja Adams (real name Tanja Adamiak) and Belinda Harrow (who also appeared as the debut cover–centre of Picture magazine in 1988.

People (Animal Collective EP)

People is an EP by Animal Collective released in October 2006. The first three songs were recorded during the band's Feels sessions in 2005, while the live version of "People" was recorded on tour in March 2005 just prior to the sessions.
