Originality

Originality is the aspect of created or invented works by as being new or novel, and thus can be distinguished from reproductions, clones, forgeries, or derivative works. An original work is one not received from others nor one copied from or based upon the work of others.. It is a work created with a unique style and substance. The term "originality" is often applied as a compliment to the creativity of artists, writers, and thinkers. The idea of originality as we know it was invented by Romanticism, with a notion that is often called romantic originality.

The concept of originality is culturally contingent. It became an ideal in Western culture starting from the 18th century. In contrast, at the time of Shakespeare it was common to appreciate more the similarity with an admired classical work, and Shakespeare himself avoided "unnecessary invention".

Originality in law

In law, originality has become an important legal concept with respect to intellectual property, where creativity and invention have manifest as copyrightable works. In the patent law of the United States and most other countries, only original inventions are subject to protection. In addition to being original, inventions submitted for a patent must also be useful and nonobvious.

Originality (song)

"Originality" is a song by Nigerian R&B singer Faze, which he wrote, recorded and mastered in one day . The song was produced by Waz Beat for Faze's third studio album, Originality (2008). "Originality" is a song that praises and reminds people about past legends and heroes and the performer in this song references himself in the lyrics saying 'One day una go hala my name O'.

Originality was the last written and recorded single off the platinum selling Originality album. The song was released as the first single from the album in August 2008. The single topped various charts around the Nigeria, including the Vanguards super 7 songs for five non-consecutive weeks, as well globa countdown. Originality is well received by critics and is set to get awards and nominations.

Background and writing

When Faze planned to make a new record after his second album multi-platinum album Independent, he was left with the thought of not having the main hit single to promote the album and then came "Originality", which was written, recorded and mastreed in one day. This landmarks is rear in Nigeria. Indeed Faze tried something new dropping some old producers and making use of young producers like Waz Beat (22yrs of age), J.Sleek etc. and fortunately came Originality's beat from Waz Beat 'one of Faze's best songs ever'. Faze would quickly record a remix which is on track 9 of the album to further promote his already growimg hit as at the time.

Originality is the third studio album by Nigerian R&B Superstar Faze released on October 6, 2008. The album gained the tag of being 'THE MOST ANTICIPATED ALBUM OF THE YEAR 2008' as well the most personal album by Faze.

Production

The production of the album is much different from his last two platinum albums as he dropped some his regular producers such as OJB JEZREEL, COHBAMS, I.D. CABASA & MR DAZ and embraced new producers for his chart bursting Originality album such as Waz Beat (he produced most of the songs in the album) and J.Sleek, while maintaining productions by Spankie (the producer of Kolomental one Nigeria's greatest hit ever) and Jah Mix (who produced the Remix to the hit Kpo Kpo Di Kpo). The beats signal a clear change in producers as it features more Africanized beats than ever in any Faze album, thereby indicating true Originality as the album title denotes. The mixing and mastering of the album were done by Foster Zeeno, Jah Mix, Indomix, Klem, Richie (from Ghana).
