Oregon Route 402

Oregon Route 402 (OR 402) is an Oregon state highway running from Kimberly to Long Creek. OR 402 is known as the Kimberly-Long Creek Highway No. 402 (see Oregon highways and routes). It is 34.88 miles (56.13 km) long and runs east–west, entirely within Grant County.

OR 402 was established in 2002 as part of Oregon's project to assign route numbers to highways that previously were not assigned.

Route description

OR 402 begins at an intersection with OR 19 at Kimberly and heads east through Monument and Hamilton to Long Creek, where it ends at an intersection with US 395.

OR 402 was assigned to the Kimberly-Long Creek Highway in 2002.

New York State Route 402

New York State Route 402 (NY 402) was a state highway located within the village of Tivoli in Dutchess County, New York, in the United States. It was assigned in the early 1930s and served as a connector between NY 9G and what was once a ferry landing on the Hudson River west of the village. Although the ferry service linking Tivoli and the village of Saugerties was shut down in the 1940s, NY 402 continued to exist until 1980. On April 1 of that year, ownership and maintenance of the highway was transferred to Dutchess County as part of a highway maintenance swap between the county and the state of New York. The highway became part of an extended County Route 78 (CR 78), which had begun at the junction of NY 9G and NY 402 prior to the swap.

Route description

NY 402 began at what was once a ferry landing on the Hudson River west of the Tivoli village center, but within the village limits, in northwestern Dutchess County. The highway went southward from the ferry landing, paralleling the Hudson River for a short distance before it turned eastward and traversed a pair of hills as it approached the center of the village. In this area, NY 402 connected to Sycamore Point, a plateau overlooking the Hudson River. East of the highway leading to Sycamore Point, NY 402 intersected with Woods Road, a north–south highway marking the western edge of the village's central district.

Virginia State Route 402

State Route 402 (SR 402) is a primary state highway in the U.S. state of Virginia. Known as Quaker Lane, the state highway runs 1.65 miles (2.66 km) from SR 420 north to Interstate 395 at Shirlington Circle within the independent city of Alexandria.

Route description

SR 402 begins at an intersection with SR 420, which heads west as Seminary Road and east as Janneys Lane. Quaker Lane continues south as an unnumbered street past the Clarens mansion to SR 236 (Duke Street). SR 402 heads north as a four-lane undivided highway that passes to the east of the Virginia Theological Seminary and Episcopal High School. The state highway intersects northwest–southeast SR 7 (King Street) and east–west Braddock Road at a triangular six-way intersection; each street intersects the two other streets for a total of three intersections. North of SR 7, SR 402 gains a median and passes between the Parkfairfax and Fairlington neighborhoods. The state highway's northern terminus is at Shirlington Circle, a roundabout interchange with I-395 (Henry G. Shirley Memorial Highway) on the boundary between the city of Alexandria and Arlington County. The roundabout also includes right-in/right-out intersections with Gunston Road in Alexandria and Campbell Avenue in Arlington, which provides access to The Village at Shirlington commercial area, which includes the Signature Theatre. North of the roundabout interchange, the highway continues north as Shirlington Road through the Shirlington neighborhood of Arlington.

Oregon Route 201

Oregon Route 201 is a north–south state highway in eastern Oregon. It currently runs from the Idaho state line just south of Adrian to Interstate 84 south of Huntington. Between the state line and Nyssa, it is known as the Succor Creek Highway No. 450 (see Oregon highways and routes), including the Homedale Spur of the same highway. Between Nyssa and Cairo Junction, it is part of the Central Oregon Highway No. 7 as a concurrency with U.S. Route 20 and U.S. Route 26, and north of Cairo Junction, it is the Olds Ferry-Ontario Highway No. 455. At the Idaho state line, Oregon Route 201 becomes State Highway 19.

An unbuilt extension of the Succor Creek Highway is designated southward from the start of the Homedale Spur to US 95.

History

Oregon Route 201 originally existed only as the Succor Creek Highway. It continued south of Adrian via Jordan Valley to McDermitt, where it continued as Nevada State Route 8. The route was completely decommissioned in 1940 with the extension of U.S. Route 95 through Oregon. It would not see new life until U.S. Route 30 was rerouted around Farewell Bend on roughly its current route.

Oregon Route 7

Oregon Route 7 is an Oregon state highway which runs from Interstate 84 at Baker City to U.S. Route 26 at Austin Junction. OR 7 traverses several highways of the Oregon state highway system: Whitney Highway No. 71, part of the La Grande–Baker Highway No. 66, and part of the Baker–Copperfield Highway No 12. A short spur, Oregon Route 410, serves the city of Sumpter.

Route description

OR 7 has its southern terminus at a junction with U.S. Route 26 at the unincorporated locale of Austin Junction. From Austin Junction, it runs roughly northeast, passing near Bates and Austin, and crossing the Middle Fork John Day River. The route continues northeast through the Malheur National Forest until it crosses the North Fork Burnt River and passes into the Wallowa–Whitman National Forest. The road follows the river roughly eastward until it reaches the community of Whitney, where it turns northeast again. South of Sumpter the route crosses the Powder River—in an area covered with gold dredge tailings—and forms a junction with Oregon Route 410. OR 7 continues southeast along the Powder River and passes Phillips Lake, an impoundment of the river dating from 1968. At its junction with Oregon Route 245 at Salisbury, the route veers north as it continues to follow the river, terminating in Baker City at an interchange with I-84.

Oregon Route 202

Oregon Route 202 is an Oregon state highway which serves the northwestern corner of the state. It is part of the Nehalem Highway No. 102 (see Oregon highways and routes), and runs between the cities of Astoria and Mist.

Route description

The western terminus of Oregon Route 202 is an intersection with U.S. Route 101 in Astoria. OR 202 (concurrent for a short stretch with US 101 Business) continues southeast from there, along the eastern shore of Youngs Bay and the Youngs River. Soon after, it enters the valley of the Nehalem River, and continues southeast towards the community of Jewell. Leaving Jewell, it then continues east-northeast to the town of Mist, where OR 202 ends. The Nehalem Highway continues southeast from there, as Oregon Route 47.
