Ordet (Danish pronunciation: [ˈoːˀʁəð], meaning "The Word" and originally released as The Word in English) is a 1955 Danish drama film, directed by Carl Theodor Dreyer. It is based on a play by Kaj Munk, a Danish Lutheran priest, first performed in 1932. The film won the Golden Lion at the 16th Venice International Film Festival, and was the only film by Dreyer to be both a critical and financial success.
The film is now regarded by many critics as a masterpiece, admired particularly for its cinematography.
The film centers around the Borgen family in rural Denmark. The devout widower Morten, patriarch of the family, prominent member of the community, and patron of the local parish church, has three sons. Mikkel, the eldest, has no faith, but is happily married to the pious Inger, who is pregnant with their third child. Johannes, who went insane studying Søren Kierkegaard, believes himself to be Jesus Christ and wanders the farm condemning the age's lack of faith, including that of his family and the modern-minded new pastor of the village. The youngest son, Anders, is lovesick for the daughter of the leader of a local Christian religious sect.
The Word (Swedish: Ordet) is a 1943 Swedish drama film directed by Gustaf Molander, based on the 1925 play by Kaj Munk. It preceded Ordet by Carl Th. Dreyer, the much more famous film adaptation of the play, by more than a decade.
Ordet Co., Ltd. (株式会社Ordet (オース) Kabushiki-gaisha Ōsu) is a Japanese animation studio, founded in 2007 by ex-Kyoto Animation director Yutaka Yamamoto and other staff. The company initially served as a subcontractor before producing their first fully solo work, an OVA episode of Black Rock Shooter, aired in the spring of 2010. This was followed up with an 8-episode series that aired on noitamina from February 2, 2012 to March 22, 2012.
Ordet was founded in 2007 by Yutaka Yamamoto after being fired by his former employer Kyoto Animation during the production of Lucky Star. After Lucky Star completed its run, several other Kyoto Animation staff left the company and followed Yamamoto. Together, they founded Ordet with approximately ¥ 3 million of capital stock.
You, were always the kind of girl to call me at 3am,
We were only best of friends.
I, kept this secret kept a lie, deep down locked inside,
But I've got nothing left to hide.
I've got feelings that I can't deny.
Everytime you fall,
I will pick you up baby.
Everytime you fall,
I won't let your heart hit the ground.
I'll always be around.
I'll never ever let you down.
Me, Just put a little faith in me.
I am trying hard to make you see,
That we were always meant to be.
I, I am not just your typical guy.
I'll never let a day go by,
Without you here by my side.
I've got feelings that I can't deny.
Everytime you fall,
I will pick you up baby.
Everytime you fall,
I won't let your heart hit the ground.
I will always be around.
Everytime you fall,
I will pick you up baby.
(down, down, down, baby)
I'll never ever let you down.
Everytime you fall,
I will pick you up baby.
Everytime you fall,
I won't let your heart hit the ground.
I will always be around.
I'll never ever let you down.
