Open Programming Language

Open Programming Language (OPL) is an embedded programming language for portable devices that run the Symbian Operating System.

Usage

It can be found on the Nokia 9200, 9300 and 9500 Communicator series mobile telephone/personal digital assistant (PDA) and the Sony Ericsson P800, P900, P910 series. On classic Psion PDAs such as the Series 3, 5/5mx, Series 7, and netBook/netPad, as well as the MC218, OPL is part of the standard application suite. OPL is also included in Psion Teklogix industrial handhelds such as the Workabout mx. OPL is an interpreted language similar to BASIC. A fully Visual Basic-compatible language OVAL has been also developed.

History

The language was originally called Organiser Programming Language, developed by Psion Ltd for the Psion Organiser. The first implementation (without graphics) was for the original Psion Organiser (now referred to as the Psion Organiser I, 1984), and it came bundled with the Science, Finance and Math data packs. It became truly accessible as built-in software in the Psion Organiser II (1986), and the language went on to be used in the Psion Series 3 and later. After Psion retired from the portable digital assistant market, the project was delayed until 2003, when the fledgling Symbian Developer Program released it as open source. The language is now developed on SourceForge in the opl-dev project.

Open (Gotthard album)

Open is the fourth studio album released by the hard rock band Gotthard.

The album peaked at #1 on the Swiss Charts and was certified as 2x Platinum for exceeding 60,000 sales.

88open

The 88open Consortium was an industry standards group set up by Motorola in 1988 to standardize Unix systems on their Motorola 88000 RISC processor systems. The effort was largely a failure, at least in terms of attracting attention to the 88000 platform, and the group folded as soon as Motorola turned their attention to the PowerPC.

Plan (film)

Plan is a Bollywood action thriller film released in January 2004, starring Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Chopra, Dino Morea and Sameera Reddy. It was produced by Sanjay Gupta and directed by Hriday Shetty, the film was a rage and did exceptionally well at the single screens of India whilst not performing too well at the multiplex cinemas overall the film was given the hit verdict and stands as the seventh highest grossing hindi film of 2004. This film is loosely based on the 1997 Hollywood comedy Suicide Kings.

Plot

Four individuals, from different walks of life, meet on a train destined towards Mumbai. They are Bobby (Dino Morea), Omi (Rohit Roy), Lucky (Sanjay Suri) and Jai (Bikram Saluja). They immediately become friends as they are alone, and only Jai has someone to live with.

Bobby dreams of becoming an Actor like Amitabh Bachchan. Omi needs to get back some money from a person who borrowed it from his father. Lucky was an expert gambler in his village, and intends to test his luck in Mumbai. Jai wants to regain his lost love.

Plan (magazine)

Plan is a bi-monthly architecture and design publication based in Dublin, Ireland. It caters mainly for Irish and international architects and designers. Plan also documents alternative architectural culture such as interdisciplinary interplays between architecture and philosophy, art and new social movements. The magazine has featured contributions from, and interviews with, Daniel Libeskind, Peter Eisenman, Massimiliano Fuksas, Tadao Ando, Paul Andreu, Will Alsop, Wolf D Prix and Frank McDonald among others. The first Editor-In-Chief, and principal architect of the magazine, was Uinseann MacEoin. Acting as both editor and publisher, his magazine won much praise in 1970s Ireland. Plan has won several awards since this time, and received a major redesign in 2007.

Planē (mythology)

Planē or Plane (Ancient Greek: Πλάνη, pronounced "pla-neh"), in ancient Greek religion, was an abstract goddess, the personification of the concept of error (her name deriving from the Greek term for 'wandering' [see planet ] ). Though her mythology is obscure, it is known that she was present at the musical competition between the god Apollo and the satyr Marsyas. She is depicted in that scene, looking on in horror at the sight of Marsyas about to be flayed for losing, in a few 4th century mosaics in the House of Aion in Nea Paphos.

Planē (or Plane) is also referred to, as an abstract concept, in Christian and Gnostic philosophy.
