Open is Blues Image's second album and most acclaimed album, which featured the No. 4 hit single, "Ride Captain Ride".

Critical reception

Robert Christgau, writing in The Village Voice, wrote in a contemporary review: "Great single, mediocre (though improved) album. Do we really need another 'Parchman Farm?'"

Open (sport)

An Open in sports terminology refers to a sporting event or game tournament that is open to contestants regardless of their professional or amateur status, age, ability, gender, sex, or other categorization. In many sports, preliminary qualifying events, open to all entrants, are held to successively reduce the field to a manageable number for participation in a final championship event, which itself may involve elimination rounds.

The term 'Open' may not be absolute. For example, in the U.S. Open in golf, entrants at qualifying events must have a USGA official handicap of 1.4 or less. Other minimum performance standards or eligibility criteria may apply in other sports.

Opens are usually found in golf, tennis, badminton, quizbowl, fighting games, snooker, darts, volleyball, ultimate, squash and chess.

Open is a monthly Mexican lifestyle magazine published by Editorial Metrosexual. Founded in 2005, the magazine covers different topics in each issue, such as art, cars, travel, restaurants, sex, gadgets and every other subject related to trendy men.

The editor-in-chief is Gabriel Bauducco.

The covers of the magazine have always been portrayed by the most "in" men in the arts, business, sports and culture such as Diego Torres, Alfredo Harp Calderoni, David Bisbal, Hugh Jackman and soccer player Rafael Márquez. The April's issue cover portrayed Alejandra Guzmán dressed as a man.

Paris Métro Line 7bis

Paris Métro Line 7bis is the second shortest line of the metro operating in Paris, France. It serves the 19th and 20th arrondissements in the North East of the city.

The merger of line 3bis and line 7bis, connected through an existing rail tunnel and allowing the opening of a closed station (Haxo), is being studied. The line 7 bis would be extended one station west to have its terminus at Château-Landon. The resulting line from Château-Landon to Gambetta would become a new line and be put in operation between 2013 and 2020.

14 Bis (band)

14 Bis is a Brazilian pop-rock band. The band took its name from Santos-Dumont's 14 Bis airplane.

The band was formed in 1979 in the state of Minas Gerais, when the members of two bands, O Terço and "Bendegó" decided to merge. Flávio Venturini and Vermelho, two founding members of 14 Bis, were also members of the Clube da Esquina band.

Música popular brasileira is a strong element in many of 14 Bis compositions. The influence of progressive rock and caipira (hillbilly) is evident in many of its compositions, such as in their use of analog keyboards and complex vocal arrangements.

The group reached the peak of their success during the 1980s with notable compositions and performance of popular Brazilian songs. Due to the mild, often happy and soothing theme of many of its compositions, the band was quite popular among children.

BiS, also known as Brand-new idol Society (Shinsei Idol Kenkyuukai, 新生アイドル研究会), was a Japanese idol group that was founded in 2010 by leader Pour Lui following a brief solo career. With music, performances and videos that are extremely different from the typical idol group, BiS have come to be known as "alternative" idols. They disbanded at Yokohama Arena on July 8, 2014.

History

2010-2011: Brand-new idol Society, Formation and debut

The formation of BiS came about in late 2010. Pour Lui, a solo artist known as a "new-age rock icon", announced her intention to retire as a singer and instead form an idol group, for which she would personally audition members. The new four-member group BiS made its debut on the indie record label Tsubasa Records with a free digital single called "Taiyou no Jumon" (太陽のじゅもん). Then, in April 2011, they released the album "Brand-new idol Society", which included "Taiyou no Jumon" and a cover of "One day", a song originally by Pour Lui.
