  • Open Air

Open Air was BBC1's flagship programme for their new daytime service which began on 27 October 1986. In 1987 an additional early morning episode was added, following the end of Breakfast Time, to help promote and inform viewers what topics would be covered in the main edition.

Open Air had similarities to Channel 4's programme Right to Reply, as it discussed all aspects of television and also tried to answer any questions which viewers had. Unlike Right to Reply, Open Air was transmitted live each weekday and had live phone-ins. The series covered all television channels and would often have programme makers and television management explaining their actions. It ended in 1990, after 4 series.

  • Open Air PM

Open Air PM was a New York City newspaper operated by real estate magnate Abe Hirschfeld and his daughter Rachel Hirschfeld. The paper was published from June 1996 to October 1996.

    History

Abe Hirschfeld and his daughter, attorney Rachel Hirschfeld, founded Open Air PM in 1996. They set up their operation and did all the work in The Pennsylvania Hotel, which he owned at the time.

Before publishing Open Air PM, Abe had owned the New York Post. He took the Post over during its bankruptcy and was famous for telling people that he saved the Post. However, the Post writers refused to work with Abe and it ended up a turbulent time. Pete Hamill, the Post's editor ran a cover photo of Alexander Hamilton, the Post{{{1}}} founder, with a tear in his eye.

Rachel Hirschfeld was a close friend of the wife of Ben Blank, one of the largest advertisers in the New York Post. Ben then introduced Rachel to Rupert Murdoch.

After talking with Rachel, Rupert Murdoch flew into New York from Australia and met with Rachel and Abe. At that meeting, an agreement was reached and Murdoch bought the New York Post from Abe on March 29, 1993.

I have my feet in the water and ride when I was bout to get up

You were swimming in the bottom (yea)
I said why you gonna live down there
Well baby you can love up here on land
And what a difference it makes you will see
What a difference it makes to breathing
What a difference it makes it easy to love
The open air makes it easy so easy to love
The open air makes it easy easy to love
I swear the air is so much better up here then down there
Ohh the air makes it easy easy to love
You said your feeling ways that you never
Couldn't feel with all that pressure
Use to being dark at night and your kinda afraid to realize
That you still crack a smile cuz it makes you feel alive
