Opel Cascada

The Opel Cascada (Spanish for "waterfall") is a mid-size convertible engineered and manufactured by the German automaker Opel since 2013. It is also marketed as the Opel Cabrio in Spain, Vauxhall Cascada in the United Kingdom, the Holden Cascada in Australia and New Zealand, and the Buick Cascada in North America and China.

The Opel Cascada has a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder Medium Gasoline Engine with Spark Ignition Direct Injection technology, which reduces fuel consumption. Its relatively low power output in the Buick's mass lets it achieve a modest 0-60 mph time in the 8-9 second range.

The engine produces 170 PS (125 kW) of power and 280 N·m (207 lbf·ft) of torque between 1650-3200 rpm. Other engines, not available in the US, include two 1.4 L Family 0 petrol with 120 PS (88 kW) and 140 PS (103 kW) both with 200 Nm (220 Nm with overboost) and 2.0 L CDTI diesel with 165 PS (121 kW) and 380 N·m (280 lbf·ft).

They are best known for their hit singles "Everytime We Touch", "What Hurts the Most" and "Evacuate the Dancefloor". Cascada have sold over 30 million albums worldwide, an estimated 15 million digital downloads, and have an estimated net worth of over 7 million. Cascada represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, Sweden. While being one of the most successful acts of the dance music genre in itself, Cascada are named the most successful German act of the 21st century.

2004–05: Early career

When Natalie Horler was 17, she was doing studio work for various DJs. Eventually she met Yanou and DJ Manian. Originally, they released music under the name Cascade, but due to Kaskade, another artist with a similar name, threatening legal action, they changed it to Cascada. They simultaneously released music under the names of Siria and Akira as well, but ended those projects due to the success of Cascada. Under Andorfine Records, they produced their debut and hit single, "Miracle", and its follow-up, "Bad Boy", in Germany. This caught the attention of the American dance label Robbins Entertainment. They negotiated a contract and "Miracle" was released in 2004. However, it did not attract much attention, so Cascada offered them "Everytime We Touch".

Adam Opel AG (Opel, pronounced [ˈoːpl̩]) is a German automobile manufacturer headquartered in Rüsselsheim, Hesse, Germany, and a subsidiary of General Motors Company. Opel (album)

Opel is a 1988 album compiled from recordings made by former Pink Floyd frontman Syd Barrett between 1968 and 1970. The album is a compilation of unreleased material and alternate takes of recordings from sessions for Barrett's solo albums, The Madcap Laughs and Barrett. Before they were vetoed by Pink Floyd, the album was to include two unreleased tracks that Barrett had worked on while with Pink Floyd, "Scream Thy Last Scream" and "Vegetable Man".

Opel was released in October 1988 on Harvest in the UK, and on Capitol Records in the US. The album was remastered and reissued in 1993, along with Barrett's other albums, The Madcap Laughs and Barrett (both 1970), independently and as part of the Crazy Diamond box set. A newly remastered version was released in 2010.

Background

The album was originally set to include the unreleased Barrett Pink Floyd songs "Scream Thy Last Scream" and "Vegetable Man", which had been remixed for the album by Jones. However, the two songs were pulled by Pink Floyd, before Opel was finalised.
