Oor Mariyadhai is a 1992 Tamil drama film directed by K. S. Ravikumar. The film features Sarath Kumar, Sasikala, Napoleon and Anand in lead roles. The film, produced by R. B. Choudary, had musical score by Deva and was released on 1 May 1992.
Rathnavelu (Sarath Kumar) is a respected man in his village whereas Veerapandi (Napoleon), a womaniser, is hated by everyone. Rathnavelu loves his niece Rasathi (Sasikala) while his cousin Kamachi (Sindhu) loves Rathnavelu. Kannan (Anand), Veerapandi's brother, returns to his village after studying in the city. Kannan and Rasathi fall in love with each other.
In the past, Rasathi's father, Chinna Raja (Vijayakumar) won for the first time the village's prestige price. The angry Muthupandi Thevar (Kitty), Veerapandi's father, couldn't bear it, so he tried to kill Chinna Raja and they finally killed each other.
Knowing the relationship between Kannan and Rasathi, Rasathi's mother forces her brother Rathnavelu to get married with Rasathi and they get married. The next day, Kannan is found hanged. Rasathi is still shocked of her lover's death and Veerapandi only wants to take revenge on Rathnavelu's family. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.
Mariyadhai (Tamil: மரியாதை; English: Respect) is an Indian Tamil film that stars Vijayakanth, who performs two roles, while Meena plays the lead heroine. Meera Jasmine plays another heroine character while Ambika also plays a significant role. Directed by Vikraman, who earlier directed hits like Poove Unakkaga (1996) and Vanathai Pola (2000), the film released in 2009.
The story unfolds in a small village near Pollachi. Annamalai (senior Vijayakanth) leads a contended life with his wife Alamelu (Ambika), his daughter Sumathy (Ammu) and his son Pichai (junior Vijayakanth). A caring a loving father, he even allows his son to change his name from Pichai to Raja, when he is made fun of by his friends when he was very young.
A respectable man in the village for his philanthropic activities, Annamalai gives enough liberties and freedom to his son Raja, who emerges out as an agriculture graduate. All troubles begin when Raja loses money by cultivating dates in the barren land owned by his father. Meanwhile an industrialist eyes the land for setting up chemical factory which is resisted by both father and son. But Raja comes across Radha (Meena), a music teacher and he falls for her immediately. Raja’s wedding is arranged with Radha by elders of both the families.
OOR is the oldest currently published music magazine in the Netherlands. Oor is the Dutch word for ear. Until 1984 it was published as Muziekkrant OOR.
The magazine was first published on 1 April 1971, being founded by Barend Toet (born 3 January 1947). Of the first issue 20,000 copies were printed and paid for by Berry Visser, one of the co-founders of Mojo Concerts. The magazine was sold to Levisson (Graficus) on 1 January 1972. In 1978 the magazine was bought by Elsevier. Halfway through the 1990s, OOR was sold to the Telegraaf Media Group. In 2002, OOR was bought by Erik de Vlieger's Imca Media Group. Since 2006, Argo Media is the owner.
Originally, OOR was published as a newspaper, hence the word 'krant' in the name. From the 1980s onward, the word Muziekkrant was dropped from the title and OOR had become a magazine. Around 2005, also the frequency changed. Originally a bi-weekly publication, OOR is now a glossy monthly.
