"Only a Fool" is the third single by Norwegian pop singer Marit Larsen, released from her debut album Under the Surface. The single spent only two weeks on the Norwegian Singles Chart and was only a radio release. It can only be purchased online as a single, as no hard copy is sold in stores.
By Your Side is the fifth studio album by American rock band The Black Crowes. It was released in early 1999 on Columbia Records, following the band's move from American Recordings, after second guitarist Marc Ford and bassist Johnny Colt had left the band in 1997. Audley Freed and Sven Pipien were hired as the new guitarist and bassist, respectively, although Rich Robinson played all the guitar parts on the album. By Your Side was recorded in New York City during the second quarter of 1998 and produced by Kevin Shirley. It comprised songs written in the studio, revised songs from pre-production and re-recorded songs from the abandoned 1997 album Band.
The Black Crowes promoted By Your Side by performing on numerous television programs in North America and Europe. The album debuted at its peak position of number 26 on the Billboard 200 and generally received positive reviews. While some critics depreciated By Your Side for its similarity to albums by Rod Stewart and The Rolling Stones, most reviewers lauded The Black Crowes' return to the straightforward approach of their debut album, Shake Your Money Maker (1990). Chris Robinson's singing and Rich's guitar playing also won praise from critics, though reviews of the lyrics were mixed.
Etta James (also known as Only a Fool) is the eleventh studio album by American Blues artist Etta James, released in 1973.
The Allmusic review awarded the album 3½ stars stating "A mixture of funk and blues-rock, the new direction turned out dark and brooding... The reinvented James went over well with the public. The album garnered good sales and was even nominated for an Grammy Award".
The album reached peak positions of number 154 on the US Billboard 200 and number 41 on the Billboard R&B chart.
Secret Affair are a mod revival band, formed in 1978 and disbanded in 1982. They reformed to perform and record in the 2000s.
In a period of a little over two years, Secret Affair posted five releases in the UK Singles Chart and released three albums. The debut single "Time For Action" sold over 200,000 copies and reached number 13 in the UK chart, putting the band at the forefront of the mod revival movement. More chart success followed with "Let Your Heart Dance", "My World" and "Sound Of Confusion".
Formed after the demise of the CBS Records signed power pop band New Hearts, singer Ian Page and guitarist David Cairns spent the second half of 1978 writing songs that would form the basis of the first two Secret Affair albums. They also drew up plans for a smart-dressing youth movement – the Glory Boys – based around the idea of 1960s gangster chic and influenced by the movie, Performance.
After spending January 1979 demoing songs, Page and Cairns enlisted the services of bassist Dennis Smith from the power pop band Advertising and Young Bucks drummer Seb Shelton. Saxophone player Dave Winthrop, originally playing with the group in his capacity as a session musician, would join as a full-time member of the band later in the year.
Stealing softly through the night
See the shadow of Mack the Knife,
He's come to steal your dreams away,
To sell them off and make them pay.
Billy and Runaround Sue
They know exactly what to do,
They've found a dream that's new
They're gonna keep it safe for me and you.
Through the alley and down the hall
Mack the Knife will chase you all
With dark intent and thoughts unkind
He creeps up on you from behind
Billy and Runaround SueThey know exactly what to do
Fight to keep a dream alive
Hungry hearts shout out,I will survive
Chorus
Close the door put out the light
Mack the Knife is out tonight
Take your dreams and hold them tight
Or you'll get lost in the night.
From the Thames and up The Strand
See the shadow of a darker man
The ghastly fire in Soho
Seven Children at a go.
Billy and Runaround Sue
They know exactly what to do,
They've found a dream that's new
They're gonna keep it safe for me and you.
