One Life (Glen Vella song)
"One Life" is a song by Maltese singer Glen Vella which won the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2011 final on Saturday 12 February 2011. The song will be representing Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Germany. It is written by Fleur Balzan and composed by Paul Giordimaina who represented Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 1991 with the duet "Could It Be" in collaboration with another Maltese singer; Georgina Abela. The song had come in 6th place.
The song "One Life" won the Maltese Eurovision selections with a total of 90 points after getting the maximum 12 points from 3 of the 6 judges in the final, including Italian head judge Riccardo Cocciante, along with the maximum of 36 points from the public televote where the public's vote counted as much as that of 3 judges. The other 3 judges gave 5, 6 and 7 points to the song. It will be representing Malta in the second part of the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 on Tuesday 10 May 2011.
One Life (33Miles album)
One Life is the second studio album from contemporary Christian band, 33Miles, released on September 16, 2008 through Columbia Records. In October, the album peaked at No. 161 on the Billboard 200 and No. 4 on Billboard's Top Christian Albums chart.
History

The developing story of talented pop trio 33Miles goes hand in hand with the message of its completely heart-stirring second album, One Life. Group members Jason Barton (lead vocals), Chris Lockwood (guitar, vocals) and Collin Stoddard (keys, vocals) were taking a risk, giving their dreams a shot when they released their self-titled debut less than two years ago.
Validation was seemingly instant. Concerts at more than two hundred churches nationwide ensued, and radio spun several of the band's songs into hits. Journalists also took notice, calling these humble guys "a talented and devoted group of performers who possess some amazing gifts for music" (InFuze Magazine). Soon enough, 33Miles was a Gospel Music Association Dove Award nominee for New Artist of the Year.
One Life (No Angels song)
"One Life" is a song by all-female German pop band No Angels. It was written by American musicians Nasri Atweh, Hakim Bell, Adam Messinger, Akene "The Champ" Dunkley, and group members Nadja Benaissa, Lucy Diakovska, Sandy Mölling, and Jessica Wahls for their fifth regular studio album Welcome to the Dance (2009). Produced by Bell and Dunkley, featuring additional production by The Messengers, consisting of Atweh and Messinger, the anthemic, self-manifesto song was created as a request to celebrate life, featuring autobiographical elements lyrically.
Musically, "One Life" introduced a change in sound for the quartet, as the track took the band's work further into the contemporary dance-pop and electropop genre predominantly associated with the introduction of the Welcome to the Dance album. Well received by critics, who commended on the group's musical development, it was premiered live at a concert in St. Pölten, Austria on July 3, 2009 and eventually released as the album's leading single on CD maxi single and as a digital download on August 21, 2009 in German-speaking Europe.

Alabama (schooner)
Alabama is a Gloucester fishing schooner that was built in 1926 and served as the pilot boat for Mobile, Alabama. The Alabama's home port is Vineyard Haven Harbor, Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts. The Alabama is owned by The Black Dog Tall Ships, along with the Shenandoah, and offers cruises of Nantucket Sound.
History
The schooner Alabama was one of the last vessels built from the design of one of the most notable designers of Gloucester Fishing Schooners, Thomas F. McManus. Commissioned by the Mobile Bar Pilot Association of Mobile, Alabama, the vessel was built in Pensacola, Florida, launched in 1926, and originally called Alabamian until her predecessor the Bar Pilot Association's original Alabama was retired. Though the hull bore strong resemblance of McMannus' famous Gloucester fishing schooner designs, it served as a pilot boat stationed on the Mobile Bar until 1966.
In 1967 the schooner was bought by Captain Robert S. Douglas, master and designer of the Shenandoah, and moved to Vineyard Haven. There she sat on a mooring with minimal necessary upkeep until 1994. In the early nineties with a dwindling market for windjammer cruises which leave out most modern amenities kids became the new direction for the Coastwise Packet Company - the original name for what is now also The Black Dog Tall Ships. Because of the success of these "Kids Cruises" on board the Shenandoah, Alabama was to be rebuilt by the Five Corners Shipbuilding Company headed by Gary Maynard a former First Mate that sailed on the Shenandoah. Most of the work was done in Vineyard Haven with the vessel afloat on her mooring using Captain Douglas' own power tools and shop space. Any other work was done in Fairhaven, Massachusetts at D.N. Kelly's Shipyard.
