Once Upon a Time (Tiwa Savage album)

Once Upon a Time is the debut studio album by Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage, released by Mavin Records and 323 Entertainment on July 3, 2013. It was made available for purchase on iTunes a day before its official release. The album features guest appearances from Don Jazzy, Flavour N'abania, Leo Wonder, Iceberg Slim, Sarkodie and General Pype. Don Jazzy, Tunji "Tee Billz" Balogun and Tiwa Savage executive produced the album along with contributions from Warren ‘Oak’ Felder, Sauce Wilson, Harmony Samuels, GospelOnDeBeatz, Del B, Raydar Ellis and Spellz Magik Boi. The album was supported by seven singles—"Kele Kele Love", "Love Me (3x)", "Without My Heart", "Ife Wa Gbona", "Folarin", "Olorun Mi" and "Eminado".

Background, recording, production, release and promotion

Once Upon a Time was initially scheduled for release in 2011, but problems with clearance made Tiwa Savage pushed back its release date. The album comprises nineteen tracks as well as two bonus tracks. Tiwa Savage named the album Once Upon a Time in order to portray the positive stories about her life. She wanted to motivate other upcoming artists by telling them that, once upon a time, she was a little girl in Isale Eko who dreamt of being a star. During an interview with Berklee College of Music's Brenda Pike, she hinted to possibly recording songs with the likes of Chuck Harmony, Warren Oak Felder, and So Sick (Da Grin). Moreover, she said the album will embody pop, R&B, soul, and yoruba sounds.

Once Upon a Time (2008 film)

Once Upon a Time (Hangul: 원스 어폰 어 타임; RR: Wonseu-eopon-eo-taim) is a 2008 South Korean film, directed by Jeong Yong-ki and adapted from a screenplay by Cheon Seong-il. The film is a heist comedy film set in 1940s Korea, and stars Park Yong-woo and Lee Bo-young as a con artist and a jazz singer, respectively, who each plot to steal a valuable diamond from the Japanese authorities. Once Upon a Time was the first major investment by SK Telecom's film division, established late 2007, and was released in South Korea on January 30, 2008, under the company's CH Entertainment banner.

Plot

The film is set in Seoul, 1945, during the final days of Japanese rule. Kanemura is a well-connected con artist who makes money by selling ancient Korean artifacts to wealthy Japanese collectors. His eyes are set on Haruko, a beautiful jazz singer in a downtown nightclub; unbeknownst to anyone, Haruko has been moonlighting as "Haedanghwa" ("Rugosa Rose"), a cat burglar who has carried out a succession of high profile thefts. She is also pursued by Yamada, a colonel in the Japanese military police, who is jealous of Kanemura's affections towards her. The owner of the nightclub and his chef, Hee-bong, secretly work for the Korean independence movement.
