On the Turn

On The Turn is the second and final studio album by Irish alternative rock outfit Kerbdog, released on Fontana Records in the UK on 31 March 1997. It was produced by GGGarth who had previously worked with Rage Against the Machine.

"We did one record with a band named Kerbdog, and we started off with about 25 cabinets and amps. It took about two days just to go through 'em all, but we got the best sounds that we have ever gotten. We used old Les Pauls, old Strats and Teles, different strings, different pickups."

Rehearsals began at Full Blast Studios in Los Angeles in July 1995 before recording took place at Sound City Studios and A&M Studios over the following months. The band spent almost 4 months rehearsing/recording and the album went massively over budget, including a scrapped mix of the entire album by Alan Moulder. The final mix of the album was provided by Joe Barresi. Recording took its toll on guitarist Billy Dalton who departed the band shortly after returning home.

The Turn is the eighth studio album by US rock band Live and their first release with lead singer Chris Shinn. It was released on October 28, 2014.

    History

The band announced that they would be taking a two year "hiatus" in June 2009, but in November of that year, guitarist Chad Taylor revealed that Ed Kowalczyk was no longer part of the band. Lead singer and primary songwriter Kowalczyk released a solo album Alive in June 2010, while the other three members of Live formed a new band, The Gracious Few, with singer Kevin Martin and guitarist Sean Hennesy from the band Candlebox. Their self-titled album was released in September 2010.

On March 12, 2012 Chris Shinn, formerly the lead singer of the band Unified Theory, was revealed to have joined Live when he played with them at a show at the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center in York. Live's first major tour with Shinn was as part of the Summerland Tour 2013, playing 35 shows across the US.

The first single from The Turn, "The Way Around Is Through" was released on September 16, 2014. Live have also released full versions of the tracks "Siren's Call", "We Open the Door", "Natural Born Killers" and "Don't Run to Wait" via YouTube, each with an introduction by Chad Taylor.

    The Turn (novel)

For the film based on the novel, see "Il turno"

The Turn (Italian: Il Turno [il ˈturno]) is the name of Luigi Pirandello's second novel. Originally published in Catania in 1902 by the editor Niccolò Giannotta, it was republished by the Fratelli Treves publishing house, along with the novella Lontano, with the subtitle Novellas of Luigi Pirandello in 1915. The author seems to have considered it to be a long short story rather than a true novel, and, in the introduction to the 1915 edition, explained that the two stories were written in his early youth and judged them, saying, “…the one is gay if not light-hearted, and the other is sad". He maintained that their greatest merit consisted in "the open vivacity of representation."

I can't seem to think straight.
I know I've had a little much too...
Am I over acting this time?
    I know.
    So give me a try,
Could you have a little patience?
    I know, I really didn't mean it.
You're the limit on the inside.
At least it's on the turn.
    Leaning over from behind.
    Work on the assumption.
    Wrecking heads.
    I will comply.
    I don't mind if you don't speak.
Do I care for your retreat?
Will you let me come around, oh yeah.
Pucker up it couldn't hurt you.
Let me go and then I'll work you.
    Simmer down.
    We'll struggle in the end.
I can't seem to walk straight.
I know I've had a little much too...
Am I over acting this time?
    I know.
    So give me a try,
Could you have a little patience?
    I know, I really didn't mean it.
You're the limit on the inside.
At least it's on the turn.
We have to lean over from behind.
    Work on the assumption.
    Wrecking heads.
I will comply to your lame suggestion.
Spinning is the face I see.
    Is it your complexion?
