McCartney II is the second solo album by Paul McCartney, and the first since the formation of Wings in 1971. It was released in 1980, a year before the band's dissolution and while their future lay in limbo. The album is a significant departure for McCartney, as much of it relies heavily on synthesizers and studio experimentation. It was reissued on 13 June 2011 as part of the Paul McCartney Archive Collection.
After the release of what turned out to be Wings' final album, Back to the Egg, McCartney went north to his farm in Scotland to begin some private recordings in July 1979. The first song he recorded was "Check My Machine" as a way to test the equipment, hence its title. The track also samples dialogue from the 1957 Tweety and Sylvester cartoon "Tweet Zoo." By sessions' end, he had recorded over 20 songs. With no immediate use for the recordings, he put them aside for the time being and returned to work with Wings to prepare for a UK tour that November and December. Simultaneously with the performances (which included the new "Coming Up"), Paul McCartney released his first solo single since 1971, Christmas song "Wonderful Christmastime", backed with "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reggae", which charted at number 6 in the UK, and at number 10 on the Christmas Singles chart in the US. The A-side was recorded during the McCartney II sessions, while its flip side had been cut in 1975. However, upcoming events were about to change McCartney's plans with Wings.
On the Way is the seventeenth album by Jandek, released in 1988 as Corwood 0755. It was reissued on CD in 2002.
"Way Down" is a song recorded by Elvis Presley. Recorded in October 1976, it was his last single released before his death on August 16, 1977. The song was written by Layng Martine, Jr. and was later covered by Status Quo and Cliffhanger. Elvis recorded the song at his home studio in Graceland in late October, 1976.
Released as a single (with "Pledging My Love" on the B-side) on June 6, 1977, it was his single at the time of his death. It initially peaked at No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart dated August 6, 1977 and had fallen to No. 53 on the chart for the week ending August 27, 1977. Thereafter, it reversed direction and reached an even higher peak at No. 18 on 24 September – 1 October 1977. "Way Down" reached No. 1 on the American Country chart the week he died. Overseas, the song hit the UK Singles Chart a few weeks later, almost seven years after his previous UK number-one single, "The Wonder of You", in 1970. His previous single, "Moody Blue", had been a number-one hit on the US Country Charts earlier in 1977. "Way Down" was reissued in April 2005 and reached No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart.

Don’t you break me so that you can fix me I won’t thank you, next time. Don’t you make me weep so that you can wipe the tears as the hero, not even close.
Hold me now. Don’t wait ‘til I fall to try and catch me. Heart failure. On the way down, on the way back down.
Push me around and keep it up ‘til I’m on the edge, I free-fall. Be at the bottom ready to catch me if you miss, what will you do then?
Hold me now. Don’t wait ‘til I fall to try and catch me. Heart failure. On the way down, on the way back down.
Please this hurts too much. You know you’ll say sorry tomorrow, let’s skip this part. I’ve got no fight left in me, I’ve got one fall left ‘til I cannot be rescued again.
Hold me now. Don’t wait ‘til I fall to try and catch me. Heart failure. On the way down, on the way back down.
Don’t wait ‘til I fall, hold me know. On the way back down, hold me now. Don’t wait ‘til I fall, to try and catch me. Hold me now. Don’t wait ‘til I fall to try and catch me. Hold me now. Don’t wait ‘til I fall to try and catch me.
