Planet Gemini is an American doom metal band. They distribute their music over the internet for free.
Planet Gemini was formed in 1997 by vocalist and guitarist Hellion and bassist Josh in Boston, Massachusetts. The band's first "official" release, 13, was made available for download on July 13, 2002 along with album artwork, inlay art and CD label art for their fans to print up themselves. The band's second release, Cauldron of Fuzz, was recorded from leftovers from 13 and was originally slated to be an EP. The original plan was for them to go into the studio and record all night to put 3 new songs onto the EP for their own collection. They wrote 5 songs the first night and followed it up the next weekend. Without any sleep they improvised another whole album and would continue the tradition of writing the Cauldron of Fuzz albums under heavy sleep deprivation.
In July 2006 Josh decided to part ways with the Planet Gemini project causing Hellion to continue the band on his own. Now a one-man project Planet Gemini's album "Legacy" has been canceled (because the album was supposed to celebrate 10 years of H & Josh's music). On October 31 of 2006 Hellion released Cauldron of Fuzz IV: The Finale for download on the band's official webpage. It was a collection of all unfinished demos and he and Josh worked on. This album will never be completed out of respect for the previous band member. On October 31 of 2007 Hellion released "Cauldron of Fuzz V: Sometimes it Comes Back" available for free download via the band's official webpage.
Planet Gemini is the second studio album by American heavy metal musician Michael Angelo Batio, credited as Michael Angelo. Recorded at M.A.C.E. Court Studios in Chicago, Illinois, it was released in 1997 by his own label M.A.C.E. Music. Batio performed the majority of instruments on the release, as well as producing, engineering and mixing the album.
Michael Angelo Batio's second solo album, Planet Gemini, was recorded and mixed at M.A.C.E. Court Studios in his hometown Chicago, with Batio handling all production, engineering and mixing; Pat Lilley mastered the album at Nexus Studios in Waukesha, Wisconsin. All electric and acoustic guitars, vocals, bass, keyboards, drums and percussion were performed by Batio, with keyboardist Frank Lucas and drummer Chuck White performing on "No Boundaries Part II".
Guitar Nine Records praised Planet Gemini for its "tight arrangements and very clean production", noting the speed and quality of Batio's guitar playing on the album. Their review highlighted the song "Time Traveler" in particular, and described the style of the album as "progressive [and] hard edged".
On This Planet (1997) is an album by the American ambient musician Steve Roach. This is a studio album, specially performed and recorded to simulate the atmosphere of Roach's live concerts.
Most of the music on the album is fast, rhythmic tribal ambient music. The album begins and ends with a recording of thunder. The first track, “Heart of the Tempest”, features a recital by Linda Kohanov of her poem which first appeared in the liner notes of Artifacts and the track “Remember It Now” features a spoken performance by both Roach and Kohanov. “Void Memory 4” is a continuation of The Magnificent Void. “A Darker Star” was recorded live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in October, 1996.
Oh my children of fire,
You’ve been down for oh so long.
Now your time has expired,
No more concerns about what’s right and wrong.
Oh my fallen messiah
They may cut but you’ll never bleed
With eternal desire
Live for the pleasure it’s all that you need
Come down with me
This light you’ll never see
Come home with me
Colony 13, Colony 13
Follow me through this madness
To this place we cannot let go
In the perils of sadness
