One Direction: This Is Us is a 2013 British-American 3-D concert film centering on British-Irish group One Direction. It opened in the United Kingdom on 29 August 2013, followed a day later in the United States. The movie shows many clips and songs of One Direction.

Synopsis

Billed as an intimate all-access look at life on the road for the global music phenomenon, This Is Us follows the lives of the five members of the boy band, One Direction. One Direction was first put into a group on the X Factor in 2010. This Is Us contains live concert footage from London's O2 Arena, and footage from their lives pre- and post-X Factor appearance, and gives insight into the preparation for their concerts and ultimately what it is like to be One Direction.

This Is Us was first announced by the band while on The Today Show in New York's Rockefeller Plaza on 12 November 2012, followed by confirmation it would be directed by Morgan Spurlock. Spurlock, who unsuccessfully negotiated to direct similar films, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never and Katy Perry: Part of Me, said that he took on the film because of the band's fast-track rise to stardom. The film started filming in Tokyo on 17 January 2013 and was being shot in 3D with 4K resolution RED Epic digital cameras, which Spurlock said gave a cinematic appeal. The film was later given the name One Direction: This Is Us on 19 March 2013, previously being referred to as 1D3D.

On My Own (Queensberry album)

On My Own is the second studio album by all-female German pop group Queensberry, it was released by Warner Music Group in November 2009 in German-speaking Europe. This was the last album to feature the group's original line-up. In July 2010, it was announced that original members Anto and Vici were parting with the band to be replaced with Selina Herrero and Ronja Hilbig.

On My Own (Haldor Lægreid song)

"On My Own" was the Norwegian entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2001, performed in English by Haldor Lægreid. Unusually, there was another entry that year with a similar title - Michelle singing "Out On My Own" for the Netherlands.

The song is a ballad, with Lægreid singing about the fact that he is "on my own again" and ready to take charge of his life, where previously he had not.

The song was performed fourth on the night, following Bosnia and Herzegovina's Nino Pršeš with "Hano" and preceding Israel's Tal Sondak with "En Davar". At the close of voting, it had received 3 points, placing 22nd (equal last) in a field of 23.

With the rapidly expanding size of the Contest, the decision was taken to restrict entry to the 2002 contest to those countries recording the best 13 results of 2001, a group which did not include Norway. As a "passive participant" (that is, a country broadcasting but not entering the Contest), Norway was re-admitted to the next event. Thus, the song was succeeded as Norwegian representative at the 2003 contest by Jostein Hasselgård with "I'm Not Afraid To Move On".

On My Own (film)

On My Own is a 1991 film starring Judy Davis and Matthew Ferguson. Ferguson plays Simon Henderson, a student at an Ontario boarding school, whose father lives in Hong Kong, and whose mother (played by Davis) is from England. The plot revolves around Simon coming to terms with the revelation that his mother suffers from schizophrenia.

Production

Some of the film’s location shooting was done in London, England (not London, Ontario), St. Catharines, Ontario, Toronto, Ontario and Stratford, Ontario. The film is primarily set at an "Ontario boarding school" and the scenes showing the school were filmed at two real-life boarding schools in Ontario, Ridley College (with its distinctive bell tower and entrance gates, called the Marriott Gates) and Upper Canada College (including the interior of the Upper School and the interior of Wedd’s boarding house).

Post-production for the film was done in Australia by the South Australian Film Corporation.
