Olorua is an uninhabited island of the Lau Archipelago in the Eastern Division of Fiji. The island has an area of 0.3 square kilometres (Bad rounding here{{#invoke:Math|precision_format| ( 0.3 )*1,000,000/4,046.856422 | 1-1 }} acres) and rises to 50 metres (164 ft) above sea level. It is located 8.0 nautical miles (14.8 km or 9.2 mi) northwest of Komo, the nearest inhabited island.

[edit] Ed Stafford: Naked & Marooned

Olorua was the filming location for the survival documentary, Ed Stafford: Naked & Marooned (also distributed under the title, Naked Castaway) in which British explorer Ed Stafford was dropped on the island for 60 days with no food or survival equipment.^[1][2] Stafford did bring video equipment to shoot the documentary, and when he got ill, was given antibiotics. The island was chosen for its remoteness and the presence of a small water source.^[3]
