Green Arrow

Green Arrow is a fictional superhero who appears in comic books published by DC Comics. Created by Morton Weisinger and designed by George Papp, he first appeared in More Fun Comics #73 in November 1941. His real name is Oliver Queen, a billionaire businessman and owner of Queen Industries, also a well-known celebrity in his locale of Star City. Sometimes shown dressed like Robin Hood, Green Arrow is an archer who uses his skills to fight crime in his home cities of Star City and Seattle, as well as alongside his fellow superheroes as a member of the Justice League. Though much less frequently used in modern stories, he also deploys a range of trick arrows with various special functions, such as glue, explosive-tipped, grappling hook, flash grenade, tear gas and even kryptonite arrows for use in a range of special situations. At the time of his debut, Green Arrow functioned in many ways as an archery-themed analogue of the very popular Batman character, but writers at DC subsequently developed him into a voice of progressivism very much distinct in character from Batman.

Justice League (Smallville)

The Justice League is a fictional group of superheroes on the television series, Smallville, who were adapted for television by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. The Justice League originally included Oliver Queen, Bart Allen, Victor Stone, and Arthur Curry; Clark Kent did not accept a role until three seasons later. As the team continued to appear in the series, new characters were introduced and subsequently joined the team. The original Justice League first appeared in the DC comic book The Brave and the Bold #28 (1960), and consisted of members Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and the Martian Manhunter. In Smallville, the team did not make its first official appearance until the season six episode "Justice", although each member had been previously introduced individually on various episodes since season four. In the series, the team never formalized a name for themselves, although the cast and crew officially recognized the team as the "Justice League".

Oliver Queen (Arrow)

Oliver Queen is a fictional character on the television series Arrow, based on the DC Comics superhero Green Arrow created by Mort Weisinger and George Papp. He was adapted for television in 2012 by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Andrew Kreisberg. Oliver Queen has been continually portrayed by Stephen Amell on Arrow. This is the second time the character has been adapted to a live-action television series; the first time was on the series Smallville, where the character appeared over the course of five seasons and was portrayed by Justin Hartley.

In the series, Oliver is a billionaire playboy who returns to Starling City after five years of being stranded after a ship wreck. He spends his nights as a hooded vigilante who stops crime in the city. In the first season, Oliver focuses on a list of targets that he determined are taking advantage of the citizens. Subsequent seasons has him venturing into all criminal activity, and he shifts from being willing to kill to having a rule against all killing as a means of stopping assailants. In Arrow, Oliver did not take up the name of "Green Arrow" like he does in the comics until season four. This was due to his Arrow identity considered to have "died" and was in need of a new identity.
