Oh My God is a rock band from Chicago that formed in 1999.

Oh My God's most recent album, The Night Undoes The Work Of The Day, was released on September 29, 2009, along with a US tour to promote it.

When recording Fools Want Noise, the band experimented with new styles, adding guitars to the songs "Facewash" and "Put It in a Song". Kerrang! magazine quoted:

"The addition of a guitar into the mix has worked to their advantage, particularly on the anthemic 'Facewash' and soulful shred of 'Put It in a Song'."

The band signed with a new record label, Split Red Records, shortly before recording this album. Shortly before the release of this album, the band toured around the US, and are still set to play at a few more venues.

Oh My God (Kaiser Chiefs song)

"Oh My God" is a song by the English indie rock band the Kaiser Chiefs.

It was initially released as their debut single by the Drowned In Sound label on 17 May 2004, reaching #66 in the UK charts. "Oh My God" was re-released on 21 February 2005, just two weeks before the release of their debut album Employment. This time, it peaked at #6 in the UK charts, which earned the band their first top 10 hit, as well as being their highest-charting single at the time until it was succeeded by UK chart-topper "Ruby" on 25 February 2007. The song also appeared on the soundtrack for the video game Driver: Parallel Lines.

The original single release, now a rarity due to its limited run of 500 copies, features artwork by frontman Ricky Wilson, and its B-sides were earlier versions of "Born to Be a Dancer" and "Caroline, Yes", both of which would also appear on Employment.

Oh My God (A Tribe Called Quest song)

"Oh My God" is the third single from A Tribe Called Quest's third album Midnight Marauders. It contains a sample of "Who's Gonna Take the Weight?" by Kool & the Gang and "Absolutions" by Max Roach. It also features Busta Rhymes on the chorus.

Music video

The video starts in a convenience store where Q-Tip and Phife Dawg are buying snacks. When they get outside, the video shoot's moving stage drives away with Ali on it. As they run after it, kids chase them. After catching up with it and getting on, Q-Tip begins to rap. There are three main scenes: a gate area, the group on the stage, and Busta Rhymes on top of a deli. Near the end, when Q-Tip says, "Take off your boots 'cause you can't run the race", the children stop running.

Hades

Hades (/ˈheɪdiːz/; Ancient Greek: ᾍδης or Άͅδης, Háidēs) was the ancient Greek chthonic god of the underworld, which eventually took his name.

In Greek mythology, Hades was regarded as the oldest son of Cronus and Rhea, although the last son regurgitated by his father. He and his brothers Zeus and Poseidon defeated their father's generation of gods, the Titans, and claimed rulership over the cosmos. Hades received the underworld, Zeus the air, and Poseidon the sea, with the solid earth—long the province of Gaia—available to all three concurrently. Hades was often portrayed with his three-headed guard dog Cerberus and, in later mythological authors, associated with the Helm of Darkness and the bident.

The Etruscan god Aita and Roman gods Dis Pater and Orcus were eventually taken as equivalent to the Greek Hades and merged as Pluto, a latinization of his euphemistic Greek name Plouton.

Name

The origin of Hades' name is uncertain, but has generally been seen as meaning "The Unseen One" since antiquity. An extensive section of Plato's dialogue Cratylus is devoted to the etymology of the god's name, in which Socrates is arguing for a folk etymology not from "unseen" but from "his knowledge (eidenai) of all noble things". Modern linguists have proposed the Proto-Greek form *Awides ("unseen"). The earliest attested form is Aḯdēs (Ἀΐδης), which lacks the proposed digamma. West argues instead for an original meaning of "the one who presides over meeting up" from the universality of death.
