Oh Doctor!

Oh Doctor! is a 1917 American short comedy film directed by and starring Fatty Arbuckle.

Plot

As described in Exhibitors Herald, a film magazine, Dr. Fatty Holepoke (Arbuckle) bets all of his money on a horse and loses it. He becomes entangled in the meshes of a vampire (Mann), but when he hears the voice of "his master" (his wife), he finds himself in a serious predicament. With the assistance of a uniform stolen from a policeman, he manages to get away. He tries his luck again with the horses and wins lots of money. However, when he walks down the street wifie relieves him of all of it and leads him home, even though she is half his size.

    Like many American films of the time, Oh Doctor! was subject to cuts by city and state film censorship boards. The Chicago Board of Censors required a cut of the scene where a man is pulling a women's skirt up to her knees.

    Oh Doctor! (1925 film)

    Oh Doctor! is a 1925 silent comedy based on the novel of the same name written by Harry Leon Wilson. It was directed by Harry A. Pollard and stars Reginald Denny and Mary Astor. The film was produced and released by Universal Pictures. The feature has been preserved and is available on DVD.

    Plot

    Rufus Billops, son of wealthy parents, has been reared to manhood in the belief that he is delicate and ill. He inherits a huge fortune which is tied up so that for some years he will have only a small income. Needing coin, he borrows from three elderly loan-sharks who wish him to live long enough to obtain his principal. They supply inspiration in the form of a beautiful nurse. Rufus falls in love with her and finding that she admires daring men, he does some reckless stunts that cause his creditors to almost die from anxiety. Dolores, the nurse, schemes out a plan to gain the release of his fortune from the lenders, and Rufus finally wins her affection.

    Oh Doctor is an American band from Mesa, AZ.

    They formed in November 2004. Original members of the band were brothers Kodi Nixon and Acey Nixon, and cousins Dave Taylor and Mark Taylor. Acey played the guitar, electric drums and vocals. Kodi played guitar, bass and vocals. Mark played guitar and vocals. Dave played rhythm machines, synthesizers and keyboards. The first recording of the band was "You Can't Stop the Curse" recorded by Jalipaz at audioconfusion studios in Mesa, AZ in early 2005.

    Mark left the band in the summer of 2005 and new members Clayton McGhan and Merek Davis joined the band. In the new lineup, Acey played guitar and vocals, Kodi played bass guitar and vocals, Dave played synth, Clayton played guitar, and Merek played the drums.

    They then recorded their first EP "Mode" with Larry Elyea at Mindseye Studios in Mesa, AZ in late 2005.

    The band played a lot of local shows for the next couple years and also toured parts of California, Arizona, Utah and New Mexico.
