Computer World

Computer World (German: Computerwelt) is the eighth studio album by German electronic music band Kraftwerk, released on 10 May 1981. The album peaked at number fifteen on the UK Albums Chart. It was certified silver by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) on 12 February 1982 for shipments in excess of 60,000 copies.

The album deals with the themes of the rise of computers within society. Critics see this album as a peak in the career of Kraftwerk, along with The Man-Machine and Trans-Europe Express. The compositions are credited to Ralf Hütter, Florian Schneider, and Karl Bartos. In keeping with the album's concept, Kraftwerk showcased their music on an ambitious world tour and issued several different versions of the single "Pocket Calculator" in different languages: namely, German ("Taschenrechner"), French ("Mini Calculateur") and Japanese ("Dentaku", or 電卓). A fifth version, in Italian ("Mini Calcolatore"), was lip-synched to on Italian television in 1981.

As was the case with the two previous albums, Computer World was released in both German- and English-language editions. The title of the final track, "It's More Fun to Compute", is in English in all releases, as it is based on the slogan "It's more fun to compete!" that could be seen on old pinball machines. There are also some minor differences in the album mixes used on the English- and German-language releases.

Bass Generation

Bass Generation is the third studio album by Swedish singer-songwriter Basshunter. It was first released on 28 September 2009, a week after the album's lead single "Every Morning". The album reached No. 2 in New Zealand and No. 7 in South Africa.

Background

In early 2009, Basshunter started the process of recording the album. A comment was posted on his official website in April that he was "back in the studio to do some work on the new album." On July 1, 2009, it was announced that Basshunter would be releasing a brand new single titled "Every Morning" on 21 September with the new album, "Bass Generation", being released one week later on 28 September. On 1 September 2009, the official album artwork and tracklisting was posted on Hard2Beat.com. On 15 September, it was revealed on Basshunter's official Bebo profile that the album would also be released as a two-disc set.

Release

In early September 2009, before the album was released the song "Numbers" was released to the public as a free download via Basshunter's official Bebo profile. The album release date was eventually moved up a week for unknown reasons to September 28, 2009, along with the single "Every Morning", which was released on September 21, 2009.

History

The group was formed in 2000 by Indra Dunis (vocals, drums) and two former members of the band Xerobot, Dave Broekema (guitar) and Eric (Rat Tar) Landmark (keyboards). They issued their debut full-length album in 2002 on Tigerbeat6, and followed with a flurry of small-issue releases, including a split with Erase Errata. After a second album, they signed to Kill Rock Stars, who have released their last two albums.

Kimberly "Kim" Andrews (formerly Buchanan; born Aubrey Wentworth) is a fictional character from the ABC Daytime soap opera One Life to Live. Amanda Setton originated the role on August 14, 2009. In 2010 she chose not to renew her contract and last appeared on April 2. Setton reprised the role from August 22, 2011 until December 29, 2011.

Kimberly Andrews is a Las Vegas exotic dancer who arrives in Llanview, Pennsylvania in August 2009 to help her best friend Stacy Morasco. Stacy has miscarried her baby with Rex Balsom, and Kim conspires to help Stacy get pregnant again and pass the child off as Rex's. They try Kyle Lewis, Oliver Fish and Schuyler Joplin, but all refuse. Stacy sleeps with a drunken Oliver and gets pregnant again. Kim and Stacy work to break up Gigi and Rex. Running low on money, Kim sets her sights on the wealthy and newly married Clint Buchanan. In November 2009, Schuyler discovers that Stacy lost her baby, and Kim lies and say that Schuyler is the father. Schuyler keeps the secret so he can have Gigi for himself. Kim manipulates her way into a position as his executive assistant, and soon finds out that Clint's wife Nora Hanen has fallen back in love with her ex-husband, Clint's brother Bo Buchanan. In December 2009, Kim arranges for Clint to discover the truth. In January 2010, Clint files for divorce and invites Kim to live at his mansion. Kim gets Schuyler to steal a vial of oxytocin to make Stacy give birth early. In February, Kim is devastated when Stacy falls in a frozen lake and is presumed dead. Kim and Clint marry in March 2010 so she can get custody of Stacy's baby. Kim is blackmailed by David Vickers into leaving Clint and Llanview in April.

Lightning McQueen, often referred to as "McQueen", is the protagonist in the Cars film franchise. He is voiced by Owen Wilson and he is modeled after a 2006 Ford Scorpio NASCAR

Mack

Mack (voiced by John Ratzenberger) is a 1985 Mack Super-Liner bearing license plate "RUSTEZ3". A dedicated member of the Rust-eze Medicated Bumper Ointment Team, having the role of McQueen's transport, Mack pulls Lightning McQueen's trailer to his races. Lightning's one loyal team mate after his entire pit crew resigns in protest at the end of the season decider, he inadvertently sets up the predicament suffered by Lightning McQueen throughout the movie.

McQueen exhorts Mack to drive through the night to his tiebreaker race with Chick Hicks and The King in Los Angeles, despite federal DOT regulations which legally grant Mack ten hours daily of much-needed off-duty rest alongside "all those sleeping trucks" at the last truck stop on I-40. Lightning hopes to reach the venue first and to hang out with the Dinoco team. As a result, Mack falls asleep and, distracted by the Delinquent Road Hazards (who attempt to push him off the road to the shoulder), loses Lightning. Mack arrives in Radiator Springs after Doc reveals Lightning's location and is both very relieved ("Thank the manufacturer, you're alive!") and apologetic ("I'm so sorry I lost you, boss. I'll make it up to you..."). Lightning, who is glad to see him, forgives him.
