Not Strong Enough (Apocalyptica song)

"Not Strong Enough" is a song by Finnish rock band Apocalyptica. The song is the third single from their seventh studio album 7th Symphony. The song features Brent Smith of Shinedown on lead vocals. It was first released on iTunes on November 1, 2010, but not in the US, where another version of the song, featuring Doug Robb of Hoobastank on vocals, was released on January 18, 2011. The song was re-recorded with Robb after the band failed to secure the rights to release the song in the US with Smith's vocals from Shinedown's label, Atlantic Records.

"Strong Enough" is a song by American recording artist Cher from her twenty-second studio album Believe (1998). The song was released as the second single from the album. It was released on February 19, 1999 by Warner Bros, and WEA. The song's composition and musical style is strongly reminiscent of 70's disco music. The song received positive reviews from music critics, many calling it a highlight to Believe. The song had less success in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, where it peaked at number fifty-seven, but did top the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play charts. It also went into a top ten in UK, Belgium, Germany, France, New Zealand, Spain, Italy and Finland.

Background and reception

"Strong Enough" was released as the second international single from Cher's twenty-third studio album Believe, which was released in 1998. However it was not successful in the US until it received more airplay following the release of promotional remixes. The song, along with "Believe", has become one of her most successful songs to date.

Strong Enough (Sheryl Crow song)

"Strong Enough" is a song by Sheryl Crow from the album Tuesday Night Music Club. The song reached #5 on the March 25, 1995 Billboard Hot 100 chart and topped the charts in Canada. Crow performed the song on her live album Sheryl Crow and Friends: Live from Central Park alongside the Dixie Chicks. The song was later included on Crow's greatest hits album, The Very Best of Sheryl Crow.

Background and composition

"Strong Enough" is a short acoustic song. In live performances, Crow often plays the accordion to it, although this instrument was not featured on the original recording. The song is written in the key of D major with a moderately slow tempo of 79 beats per minute in 3
4 time. It follows a chord progression of D–G5–Bm♭6–A, and Crow's vocals span from A₃ to B₄.

Music video

A simple black-and-white video was directed by Martin Bell. It features Crow in a largely empty room alternatively singing the song into a microphone and pacing anxiously through the room.
