Not Me, Not I

"Not Me, Not I" is a pop song written by Gary Barlow, Delta Goodrem, Eliot Kennedy, Kara DioGuardi and Jarrad Rogers, produced by Barlow and Kenndy for Goodrem's first album Innocent Eyes (2003). It was released as the album's fourth single in Australia on 12 September 2003 (see 2003 in music).

The song peaked at number-one in the Australian Singles Chart, making Goodrem's fourth number-one single, breaking Kylie Minogue's record of having the most songs released from an album to reach number-one.

Background and composition

This single is a love song, which talks about her pain at losing her first love. There has been speculation she is singing about her ex-boyfriend and fellow Neighbours star, Blair McDonough.

The song is acoustic rock and has an influence of the pop rock genre. It is heavily piano-driven with some use of a string ensemble. The song has a prominent emphasis on the instrumental arranging, and it's written in they key E minor. The chords follow in this order: Em–C–D–B₇, and then for the chorus: Em–C–Am₇–D.

"Not Me" is Amy Pearson's second single from her debut album Who I Am. It charted at number 37 in the ARIA Singles Chart.

The song was written by Pearson and is said to be about a pushy partner who wanted to know everything there is to know about her.

Not Me is the second full-length album by 1980s dance-pop/teen pop artist Glenn Medeiros. The album was released in 1987 (the same year as his self-titled debut album) in the US, while it would not surface until the following year in most other countries.

Not Me! (French: Sous-sol) is a Canadian drama film, released in 1996. The full-length directorial debut of Pierre Gang, the screenplay had been written by Gang a full 10 years before he was able to make the film.

It stars Richard Moffatt as René, an 11-year-old boy coming of age in 1967. When his father dies shortly after he accidentally witnesses his parents having sex, he becomes overly protective of his widowed mother Reine (Louise Portal) when she enters a new relationship with Roch (Patrice Godin), while simultaneously having his own sexual awakening when the attractive Françoise (Isabelle Pasco) moves into a neighbouring apartment.

The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 1996, before opening commercially in Quebec on May 31.

The film garnered two Genie Award nominations at the 17th Genie Awards in 1996, in the categories of Best Original Screenplay (Gang) and Best Actress (Portal). It won the award for Best Original Screenplay.

The film was Canada's submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 69th Academy Awards in 1997, but did not make the final shortlist.
