Parking violation

A parking violation is the act of parking a motor vehicle in a restricted place or for parking in an unauthorized manner. It is against the law virtually everywhere to park a vehicle in the middle of a highway or road; parking on one or both sides of a road, however, is commonly permitted. However, restrictions apply to such parking, and may result in an offense being committed. Such offenses are usually cited by a police officer or other government official in the form of a traffic ticket.

No Parking is a 1938 English comedy film directed by Jack Raymond. The film features Charles Carson, Geraldo, Fred Groves, Gordon Harker and Leslie Perrins in the lead roles.

The story was written by Carol Reed who later directed The Third Man.

The film is considered lost, as no prints are known to exist.

"No Parking (On the Dance Floor)" is the title track from Midnight Star's fourth and most successful album, No Parking on the Dance Floor. In the US, the song reached number 43 on the R&B chart, number 44 on the dance chart, and number 81 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The tune has been sampled by several artists since its 1983 release, including Sugar Ray's song from 2003, "Mr. Bartender (It's So Easy)." The basic melody was sampled by the Bar-Kays in their 1984 hit "Freakshow on the Dance Floor" and in Popula Demand's 1988 song "Don't Clock Me."
