Kayser-Roth

Kayser-Roth Corporation (a subsidiary of Golden Lady) is an intimate apparel and hosiery manufacturer based in Greensboro, North Carolina. The company currently markets two brands in North America, No Nonsense and HUE.

History

Julius Kayser & Co., the predecessor to the modern Kayser-Roth Corporation, was founded in the early 20th century by Julius Kayser and was a notable manufacturer of hosiery, lingerie and gloves. In 1958, the company purchased the Chester H. Roth Company, forming Kayser-Roth. Alfred P. Slaner, the first head of the merged company, developed Supp-Hose hosiery.

In 1973, in order to compete with the L'eggs brand (currently owned by HanesBrands), Kayser-Roth launched No Nonsense, which was one of the first brands of hosiery to be sold in supermarkets, drugstores and discount department stores. In 1975 Kayser-Roth was purchased by conglomerate Gulf+Western.

In the years under Gulf+Western's stewardship, improvements were made to Canadian manufacturing plants, most notably in Ontario and Quebec. Forays into diverse markets such as the automotive industry were carried out. During the late 70's and early 80's almost every automobile produced had Kayser-Roth components on board.

No Nonsense (album)

No Nonsense is the twenty third studio album by American country artist Barbara Mandrell. The album was released on August 21, 1990 on Capitol Records and was produced by Jimmy Bowen. It was the second studio album Mandrell released in 1990 as well as her third release for the Capitol label.

Background and content

No Nonsense was recorded in July 1990 and was released to be Mandrell's second studio release of 1990. The album's musical style was mainly approached from a traditional country music style and varies from ballads to uptempo material. The opening track "Where Are the Pieces of My Heart" was one of two songs written by songwriter Hugh Prestwood, who also wrote Trisha Yearwood's "The Song Remembers When" in 1993. Prestwood also wrote "More Fun Than the Law Allows". The fifth track "I'd Rather Be Used (Than Not Needed at All)" was a duet with Mandrell's sister, Louise Mandrell. The song was written by Louise Mandrell's then husband, R.C. Bannon.No Nonsense was released on a compact disc upon its release in 1990. The album received two and a half out of five stars by Allmusic without a review provided.

No Nonsense (rapper)

Stacey A. Jones, better known as No Nonsense, is an American rap artist from Olympia, Washington. Since 2005, No Nonsense has recorded over 400 tracks with various regional and nationally recognized artists, including Divine Mental, Overtime, JoJo, and many more. His latest heavily anticipated project, "The I-5 Bandit," includes appearances from numerous well known acts, such as Nicki Minaj, Mistah FAB, and more.

Likely the most prolific Northwest rap artist since Sir Mix-a-lot, No Nonsense has slowly expanded his pursuit of hiphop fame and fortune to include such partnerships as Northwest Connect, featuring artists Young Soprano, E-Tab, and No Nonsense collaborating, as well as other hiphop cultural ventures such as custom auto detailing and installation, signing multiple acts to his label, Double Trouble Records, and pushing for distribution of Northwest artists.*
