Skyline

A skyline is the horizon created by a city's overall structure, or by human intervention in a non-urban setting or in nature. City skylines serve as a kind of fingerprint as no two skylines are alike. For this reason, news and sports programs, television shows, and movies often display the skyline of a city to set a location. The term The Sky Line of New York City was first introduced in 1896, when it was the title of a color lithograph by Charles Graham for the color supplement of the New York Journal.

Paul D. Spreiregen, FAIA, has called a skyline "a physical representation [of a city's] facts of life ... a potential work of art ... its collective vista."

Skyline (musical group)

Skyline was a newgrass group active in the 1970s and '80s headed by Tony Trischka. The band consisted of Tony, Danny Weiss on guitar and vocals, Dede Wyland on guitar and vocals, Larry Cohen on bass, and Barry Mitterhoff on mandolin. In the last year of their career Dede Wyland left the band and was replaced by Rachel Kalem. They were a major proponent of the "newgrass" sound, known for jazz-infused riffs and extensive use of harmony in their singing. Their first album, Skyline Drive, was released in 1977. The band released several more albums over the next few years, culminating with their final release, Fire of Grace in 1989. In 1999, they released a retrospective album called Ticket Back.

Members of the band are still playing together in various configurations. Danny, Larry and Barry performed as Silk City, a band named after an old nickname for Paterson, New Jersey. The band was active around 2000-2004, before Barry left to join Hot Tuna.

Skyline was an airline based in Lagos, Nigeria operating chartered and scheduled domestic passenger flights out of Port Harcourt Airport. It was established in March 1999 and started operations in June 1999. In 2003, the airline ceased to exist.

Logic (song)

"Logic" is a song by Australian band Operator Please. It is the first single released from the band's second album, Gloves. The song's official release was on 16 February 2010.

Release

The song first appeared on the band's official MySpace page on 15 January 2010. Around the same time a download offer was added to the band's official website where you could sign up to a mailing list which would send you a free download link on 8 February. The song went on to be officially released on the iTunes Store eight days later, and was released on 7" vinyl on 12 March. It is notable that new member Chris Holland contributes backing vocals to "Logic".

Music video

In early February, the band filmed the video for "Logic". The video premiered on 13 February on Video Hits. It is predominantly a performance-based video and features effects reminiscent of the artwork for the album.

Sir Robert Bryson Hall II (born January 22, 1990), known by his stage name Logic, is an American rapper and singer. He was born and raised in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He has amassed a large Internet following and is a member of the RattPack, his group of friends that he works with. Logic has released four official mixtapes and two studio albums, the most recent being The Incredible True Story.

He is currently signed with Visionary Music Group and Def Jam and released his debut album Under Pressure on October 21, 2014. The album debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 and sold 73,000 copies in its first week. Logic released his sophomore album The Incredible True Story on November 13, 2015.

Early life

Robert Bryson Hall II grew up in the West Deer Park public housing projects, a low-income crime-ridden neighborhood. Throughout his childhood, both his African-American father and White mother suffered from cocaine addiction and alcoholism. His father was not a major part of his childhood, but they are in contact with each other now. Growing up, his brothers sold crack cocaine and even sold the drug to his father. He attended Gaithersburg High School but did not graduate. He began skipping classes in the 10th grade. "I started doing badly and failed every class but English, so they kicked me out of school, they gave up on me." Logic was expelled and used his free time to dive into pursuing his music career.
