No. 1 (film series)

No. 1 series is a Bollywood comedy film series starring Govinda in the lead role. Coolie No. 1 (1995) was the first in a series of films which had Govinda in the title role and became a major box office success. It was followed by Hero No. 1 (1997), Aunty No. 1 (1998), Anari No.1 (1999), Beti No.1 (2000) and Jodi No.1 (2001) all featuring Govinda in the lead role.

Coolie No. 1, Hero No. 1 and Jodi No.1 were directed by David Dhawan with whom Govinda has done 17 films as of 2014. Kader Khan has acted with Govinda in four films of No. 1 (film series) namely Coolie No. 1, Hero No. 1, Aunty No. 1 and Anari No.1.

The series consists of six films, starting from Coolie No. 1 in 1995. The last installment in the series was Jodi No.1 released in 2001.

Plot

Coolie No. 1 (1995)

Shaadiram Gharjode (Sadashiv Amrapurkar) is once humiliated by Hoshiyar Chand (Kader Khan) when Shaadiram goes to inform him about a family wanting to marry their son to Hoshiyar's daughter. Hoshiyar Chand insults them as he wants both his daughters to marry into the richest family. Gharjode decides to teach Hoshiyar Chand a lesson: He meets a coolie called Raju (Govinda) and they go to Hoshiyar Chand's village pretending to be a rich family. Hoshiyar is impressed and he wants his daughter Malti (Karisma Kapoor) to marry Raju. This leads to humorous situations in the climax.

No. 1 (yacht)

No. 1 is the name of a sailing yacht which is power-assisted by an electric motor that gets its electricity from hydrogen fuel cells. It is the first ever yacht to be fuel cell-powered. The boat was certified under the Germanischer Lloyd guidelines for fuel cells on ships and boats. The yacht's debut was in August 2003 in Japan, and it is commissioned at Lake Constance (Kressbronn am Bodensee).

MTU Friedrichshafen, the company that designed the boat's power system, has said that it views a move towards fuel cell-based power systems as logical given the demand for clean, quiet energy sources in leisure craft such as yachts.

National Express East Anglia

National Express East Anglia (NXEA) was a train operating company in England owned by National Express, that operated the Greater Anglia franchise from April 2004 until February 2012. Originally trading as One, it was rebranded National Express East Anglia in February 2008. It provided local, suburban and express services from London Liverpool Street to destinations in Essex, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Norfolk in the East of England.

History

When the British Rail services operating out of London London Liverpool Street were privatised in January 1997, they were divided up between three train operating companies, Anglia Railways, First Great Eastern and West Anglia Great Northern.

In December 2001, the Strategic Rail Authority announced it planned to combine all of the services operating out of London Liverpool Street into one Greater Anglia franchise.

In April 2003, the Strategic Rail Authority announced Arriva, GB Railways and National Express had been shortlisted to bid for the new franchise. In December 2003, the franchise was awarded to National Express with all the services operated by Anglia Railways and First Great Eastern along with those out of London Liverpool Street by West Anglia Great Northern, transferring to One on 1 April 2004. The franchise was to run until March 2011, with provision for a three-year extension if performance targets were met.

Numeral (linguistics)

In linguistics, a numeral is a member of a word class (or sometimes even a part of speech) designating numbers, such as the English word 'two' and the compound 'seventy-seven'.

Identifying numerals

Numerals may be attributive, as in two dogs, or pronominal, as in I saw two (of them).

Many words of different parts of speech indicate number or quantity. Quantifiers do not enumerate, or designate a specific number, but give another, often less specific, indication of amount. Examples are words such as every, most, least, some, etc. There are also number words which enumerate but are not a distinct part of speech, such as 'dozen', which is a noun, 'first', which is an adjective, or 'twice', which is an adverb. Numerals enumerate, but in addition have distinct grammatical behavior: when a numeral modifies a noun, it may replace the article: the/some dogs played in the park → twelve dogs played in the park. (Note that *dozen dogs played in the park is not grammatical, so 'dozen' is not a numeral.)

One (video game)

One is a video game released for the Sony PlayStation in 1997. The game was released as a PSone Classic for download on the PlayStation Network on March 18, 2010.

Gameplay

The game is a modern variation of the side-scrolling platform genre. Unlike third-person games such as Tomb Raider, players here primarily move on a 2D plane, but the world is rendered in 3D and the camera will zoom in and out for cinematic effect.

There are six levels in total with a Boss character to face at the end of each; most of whom cannot be dispatched by direct gunfire and instead must be defeated by usage of the surrounding environment.

Plot

The goal of One is for the player to discover the identity of the main character John Cain. The only clue available is a barcode on the player-character's neck. At the beginning of the game, John Cain awakens on the floor of an apartment building, with a gun in place of one arm, no memory, and police helicopters shooting missiles through a window. The player is pursued across the city and country-side by military and police forces who are apparently intending to kill Cain. To combat the police and military forces and other enemies, the player has the option to use Cain's newly installed arm cannon, or rely on more traditional fighting weapons like punch and kicking combos.
