Nicholas Martin, or Nick or Martyn may refer to:
Nicholas Gordon (Nick) Martin (born 14 February 1950) is a leading behavior geneticist who has published over 1000 peer-reviewed articles on topics as diverse as the heritability of religion and intelligence to medical disorders such as endometriosis. This work has had a broad impact, reflected in the fact that Martin is among the most cited medical scientists in the Southern Hemisphere, with a number of citation classics including "Genes, culture and personality: An empirical approach" that he co-authored with Lindon Eaves and Hans Eysenck (cited over 600 times), "Analysis of the p16 gene (CDKN2) as a candidate for the chromosome 9p melanoma susceptibility locus" (Nature; cited over 460 times), and "Genetic and environmental contributions to alcohol dependence risk in a national twin sample" (cited over 400 times).
Martin studied at the University of Adelaide. In 1972 he established a sample of twins in Adelaide while completing his honours thesis.
Nicholas Anthony Martin (born December 10, 1982) is a musician born in San Diego, California. Married Mya Laplante in 2010. He was the lead guitarist and lead vocalist for the band Underminded since its incarnation in 1999. He is also in the bands Cinematic Sunrise, Isles & Glaciers, and was rumored to be in Chiodos frontman, Craig Owens, new band. On June 18, 2010, Craig Owens confirmed that Nick was to be the first of two guitarists in the new group, and on August 17, 2010, he announced via Twitter the name of the new band: D.R.U.G.S.. He currently is the rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist of Sleeping with Sirens.
Martin began playing guitar when he was 10 years old and was raised on an eclectic spectrum of music by his father. He was inspired by Queen and The Beatles at a young age. Nick started his first band (Diaper Rash) in the 8th grade after being inspired by local bands at the time like Blink-182, Swindle, and Carter Peace Mission.
