Nick Records

Nick Records (also known as Nickelodeon Records or Nick Music) is the moribund record label for the children's television channel Nickelodeon. The label featured new and emerging young musical artists, "triple threat" singers who also act and dance on the network's series, and soundtrack and compilations based on Nickelodeon TV shows. As of 2015 though, no artists are signed to the label as many of its former artists have moved on to different labels, attained further success on more high-profile labels, or left the recording industry altogether.

Nickelodeon (Poland)

Nickelodeon Poland (also simply called as Nick) is a children's channel broadcasting in Poland. The channel broadcasts 24/7. All animated and live-action shows are dubbed into Polish. On March 1, 2010, Nickelodeon Poland changed its logo.

History

Before the Polish Nickelodeon channel, Nickelodeon aired as a 12-hour block on Fantastic from 1999 to 2001. It was a feed of Nickelodeon Russia that was dubbed into Polish. The channel was taken off the air due to low ratings and availability.

Face (sociological concept)

The term face idiomatically refers to one's own sense of dignity or prestige in social contexts. In the English-speaking world, the expression "To save face" describes the lengths that an individual may go to in order to preserve their established position in society, taking action to ensure that one is not thought badly of by their peers. It is a fundamental concept in the fields of sociology, sociolinguistics, semantics, politeness theory, psychology, political science, communication, and face negotiation theory, and translates at least somewhat equivalently into many world languages, both Germanic and otherwise.

The term face may be defined as the positive social value a person effectively claims for himself by the line others assume he has taken during a particular contact. Face is an image of self, delineated in terms of approved social attributes.

Face (a cappella group)

Face are a Boulder, Colorado-based "all-vocal rock band," or a cappella group performing mostly rock music. National appearances and awards include one of the eight original groups on NBC's premiere season of "The Sing-Off" (2009), two-time Runner-Up and two-time National Audience Favorite at the National Finals of Harmony Sweepstakes A Cappella Festival (2005 and 2007), and Runner-Up for Favorite Pop/Rock Group from the Contemporary A Cappella Society's Community Awards (2007). Based in Boulder, Colorado, Face has also garnered numerous local awards including Best Local Band by The Denver Channel's A-List Awards (2013), Best Local Musician by Boulder Weekly's Best of Boulder Awards (2009) and third-place for Best Local Band by The Denver Channel's A-List Awards (2009).

History

The idea for Face grew out of a university a cappella experience. Both Ben Lunstad and Joseph DiMasi had formed and performed with undergraduate a cappella groups. They met in grad school in 2000 at the University of Colorado in Boulder while singing with CU's In The Buff. Deciding that In The Buff wasn't exactly what they were looking for, Ben and DiMasi co-founded the award-winning Extreme Measures.

Sings (Conway Twitty album)

Sings (i.e., Conway Twitty Sings, not to be confused with a later album in 1966 that also used that title) is the debut album from Conway Twitty, released in 1959.

Three of the songs on the album were released as singles and became hits, with the biggest being "It's Only Make Believe," which reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Story of My Love" and a cover of the Nat King Cole song "Mona Lisa" both reached the top 40. The album itself made no impact on any charts.
