The New World Order (Robertson)

The New World Order is a New York Times best-selling book authored by Pat Robertson, published in 1991 by Word Publishing.

In the book, Robertson purports to expose a "behind-the-scenes Establishment" with "enormous power" controlling American policy, whose "principal goal is the establishment of a one-world government where the control of money is in the hands of one or more privately owned but government-chartered central banks." This conspiracy includes such elements as the Illuminati, the New Age movement, the Freemasons, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Trilateral Commission. Robertson further claims that the rise of this one-world conspiracy is being guided by Satan to fulfill the predictions of premillennial Christian eschatology, viewing it as a sign that the end times are nearing.

Reviews

In a critical review of this book, Ephraim Radner wrote, "Lind and Heilbrun show how Robertson took over—in some cases word for word—well-worn theories of a Jewish conspiracy. In particular, Robertson relied on the work of Nesta Webster and Eustace Mullins."

New world order (politics)

The term "new world order" has been used to refer to any new period of history evidencing a dramatic change in world political thought and the balance of power. Despite various interpretations of this term, it is primarily associated with the ideological notion of global governance only in the sense of new collective efforts to identify, understand, or address worldwide problems that go beyond the capacity of individual nation-states to solve.

One of the first and most well-known Western uses of the term was in Woodrow Wilson's Fourteen Points, and in a call for a League of Nations following the devastation of World War I. The phrase was used sparingly at the end of World War II when describing the plans for the United Nations and the Bretton Woods system, and partly because of its negative associations with the failed League of Nations. However, many commentators have applied the term retroactively to the order put in place by the World War II victors as a "new world order."

New world order (Bahá'í)

The phrase "New world order" in the Bahá'í Faith refers to a system of teachings, enunciated by Bahá'u'lláh, the founder of the Bahá'í Faith, that Bahá'ís believe embodies God's divinely appointed scheme for the unification of mankind and world peace in this age. Later on his successors, `Abdu'l-Bahá and Shoghi Effendi, interpreted "unification of mankind" as the eventual establishment of a world commonwealth, later as a democratic elected world government based on principles of equity and justice, a commonwealth as vital spiritually as it would be materially.

Apolitical

This vision of a world commonwealth is regarded by Bahá'ís as having no particular partisan political agenda. The members are not supposed to get involved in politics. Shoghi Effendi, the head of the Bahá'í Faith in the first half of the 20th century, has stated that the structure, importance, implications, benefits and possibilities of the New world order cannot be understood at the current time, but that only through time will it become obvious. Instead, he states, only the guiding principles underlying the New world order can be generally outlined.

The Devil You Know (TV pilot)

The Devil You Know, previously working titled as New World is an American period drama television pilot created by Jenji Kohan for HBO. Written by Kohan, Bruce Miller and Tracy Miller, set around Salem witch trials in 17th century in New England.

New World (Dave Kerzner album)

New World is the debut solo album by American musician, songwriter, producer and sound designer Dave Kerzner. This is Kerzner's first album since his departure from the band Sound of Contact, and was developed in 2014. The album features numerous collaborations with established artists such as Fernando Perdomo, Steve Hackett, Nick D'Virgilio, Durga McBroom and Keith Emerson. Two versions of the album were developed: a standard edition and a two-disc double album deluxe edition. The former was released in December 2014, and the latter was released in January 2015.

The album was produced and mixed by Kerzner. Most of the album was recorded remotely with reference tracks developed by Kerzner using music software technology from his sound production company Sonic Reality. The tracks were then re-recorded by other artists at remote locations and sent back to Kerzner's studio in Miami for mixing. Veteran mixing engineer Tom Lord-Alge mixed the album's first single release, "Stranded."

New World (The Zombies album)

New World is the third album by The Zombies recorded in 1990 and released in April 1991. According to the liner notes, it was recorded primarily to protect the name of the band in response to numerous groups of imposters that were then touring the US. The line up was different and notably, Rod Argent was unavailable to join them for more than instrumentals on one track.

The album was originally issued in the UK on RCA, but never obtained a US release. RCA issued it on CD and later reissued on Ace's Big Beat label.
