Breed 77 (pronounced "Breed Seven-Seven") is a British band from the overseas territory of Gibraltar whose music is a fusion of alternative metal and flamenco.
Breed 77 comes from the British overseas territory of Gibraltar. Old Gibraltarian school friends, Paul Isola, Danny Felice, and Stuart Cavilla met up in London and became informally known as the Gibraltarian Mafia. When, in late April 1996, this circle of friends formed a band, they wanted a name to reflect their joint origins and called themselves simply Breed. The band were forced to change their name because it was previously registered by Steve Hewitt (formerly of Placebo) on his vanity record label. Stuart Cavilla, the band's bass player, had previously worked as a motorcycle courier under the call sign of Kilo 77 or K77, and the band became Breed 77.
In 1998, Kerrang! readers voted Breed 77 the 'Best Unsigned Band'. In 1999, they won both the Metal Hammer and Kerrang! awards for the best new band. Then in 2001 they signed a five album deal with Albert Productions, the legendary Australian publisher of AC/DC.
Breed 77 is the debut studio album by Gibraltarian flamenco metal band Breed 77. It was originally released in 2000 and re-released in 2005 due to popular demand. The album was also released as a limited edition in a crucifix-style fold-out digipak. In 2005 "Shadows" from this album was released as a single.
All tracks in this album written by Breed 77 and produced, mixed and engineered by Paul Hoare.
"New Disease" is a single and music video by the nu metal band Spineshank. The song features on their album The Height of Callousness and was included on the soundtrack for the video game Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarder. The song is also featured in 3000 Miles to Graceland.
The video includes the band in the room singing and playing, a man fixing a CCTV camera which the band are looking at and the lead singer talking to a girl who is sitting down alone. The video later reveals that a boy, the girl and the person fixing the camera are floating. After the second chorus, the clouds become darker and the man fixing the CCTV camera falls, the light in the room that the band is in fades, and everybody but the band start falling to the ground.
New Disease are a British based rock band formed in 2002 by The Mission guitarist Mark Thwaite, vocalist Jacob Lee Bane, Daisy Chainsaw & Queen Adreena bassist Richard Adams and The Wildhearts drummer Ritch Battersby.
The band released the Axiomatic EP in 2003, co-produced by John Fryer, and the band received favourable reviews in the British rock press including Kerrang! magazine, Metal Hammer and Rock Sound magazine. This drew the attention of Tool and Godsmack producer David Bottrill, who negotiated a deal for the band with Universal Records USA and his label imprint "Mainstation Music" in 2004. During this time drummer Ritch Battersby departed the band and was replaced with former One Minute Silence drummer Eddie Stratton.
After signing to Universal records and releasing the single Like Rain produced by Canadian producer David Bottrill, the band were later dropped by Universal during a restructure, and Thwaite relocated to the USA in 2005 and joined Peter Murphy's band, and rejoined his old band The Mission later that year. New Disease never officially disbanded but all plans to release the band's debut album were placed on indefinite hiatus.
In a darkened place
Man without a face
Count on fingers the choices he could've made
Paint a picture of the view from up above
You - and soon he's painting in blood
And that man is me
La vida perdi (I lost my life)
Now I'm casting a shadow in front of me
Now I've drained my heart so i no longer bleed
Clip my wings and hope to fly
Wave my last goodbye
Will i be awake
Hold my hand when i die
Won't you try
Won't you take my place
Burn your name in the sky
Will you call to me
Just in memory
En la oscuridad te acordaras de mi (you'll remember me in the darkness)
Now you turn to run up towards the sunrise, you can't, you're walking on glass
Now it's you or me
Ya no creo en ti (I no longer believe in you)
Too late to say that you should've followed me
Too late to sell my flesh so i no longer feel.
Clip my wings and hope to fly
Wave my last goodbye
Will I be awake
Hold my hand when i die
Won't you try
Won't you take my place
Burn your name in the sky
