Nevada Republican Party

The Nevada Republican Party is the affiliate of the Republican Party in Nevada. The organization has a history that goes back to 1864. The Nevada Republican Party also has its own platform that discusses the direction that it feels the United States should go for the future generations. Also it has its own by-laws that go into details about how the organization should be structured and organized.

History

Nevada was founded as a state on October 31, 1864. When the state was first formed it was a Republican state. Some speculate that this was because of Nevadans' loyalty to the president who brought them into the Union, Abraham Lincoln. The first two general elections all the constitutionally elected positions all went to the Republicans. This changed starting in 1871 when four out of the six constitutional positions were won by the Democrats.

In the general elections of 1894 and 1898 the Silver Party, a party created to go against European and Eastern American bankers, swept the election. Nevada first held a primary election in 1910. 1929 the offices were split evenly between the Democratic and Republican Parties. This was the turning point though. Once the Great Depression hit the elections from 1932 to 1990s the Democratic Party held the majority throughout the state.

Republican People’s party (CHP) which is usually credited as the founder of Turkish republic in 1923 was the oldest party in Turkey. But after the party adopted the policy of so-called left of center in 1960s, two groups of MPs broke away from the party. The first group in 1967 founded the Reliance Party. Republican Party was founded by the second group in 1972.

The party was founded on 4 September 1972. The chairman of the Party was Kemal Satır, an ex vice prime minister. But it was a short lived party . On 28 February 1973 it was merged to Nationalistic Reliance Party (aka Reliance Party), which was renamed Republican Reliance Party.

Apsny (political party)

Apsny was the main political party in Abkhazia until 2005. Founded as a social movement, it became a political party in February 2001. It elected as its co-chairmen member of the People's Assembly Maia Agrba and Rushni Jopua and as its Executive Secretary Nugzar Agrba.

On 8 February 2005, along with eleven smaller parties and movements, Apsny was transformed into the Forum for the National Unity of Abkhazia.

Nevada: A Novel is the debut novel from author Imogen Binnie, released by Topside Press in 2013. Nevada follows the adventures of transgender New York punk woman Maria Griffiths.

Plot

When Griffiths finds out her girlfriend cheated on her, she spirals out of control, stealing her girlfriend's car and buying heroin before heading west on a journey of self-discovery. In Nevada, she meets James Hanson, and immediately realizes that Hanson is also transgender, but doesn't realize it yet. The two travel to Reno together. Griffiths frequently lapses into long inner monologues throughout the book, reflecting on gender, heteronormativity, and social conditioning.

Inspiration

Binnie has said that in writing a story about a transgender protagonist, she wanted to resist the risk of explaining "The Trans Experience for cis people," which she says often happens with transgender memoirs. Because Nevada is a work of fiction, Binnie said she approached writing it as a transgender story written for trans women. "One of the questions I was trying to answer with Nevada was, what would a story about trans women that was intended for an audience of trans women — what would that look like?" Binnie told blogger Sarah McCarry in an interview about the book.

Nevada is a 1935 American Western film directed by Charles Barton and written by Garnett Weston and Stuart Anthony. The film stars Buster Crabbe, Kathleen Burke, Syd Saylor, Monte Blue, William Duncan and Richard Carle. It is based on the novel Nevada by Zane Grey. The film was released on November 29, 1935, by Paramount Pictures.
