Adam Young

Adam Randal Young (born July 5, 1986) is an American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, best known for creating the electronica project Owl City.

Owl City, created in 2007, has enjoyed significant popularity since its inception. Posting songs to MySpace and iTunes, Young sold 2,000 tracks per week. Young, under Owl City, independently released Of June in 2007 and Maybe I'm Dreaming in 2008. In 2009, Young gained mainstream popularity after signing a deal with the record company Universal Republic and releasing the quadruple-platinum song "Fireflies", from the album Ocean Eyes.

Young began his musical career by creating small musical projects, promoted by himself on PureVolume and MySpace. In 2002 Young co-founded Windsor Airlift with Anthony and Andy Johnson, which has released five studio albums to date.

Young also has other musical projects including Port Blue and Sky Sailing. He is also a co-founder of Swimming With Dolphins. Young is currently working on a monthly orchestral composition project called Adam Young Scores.

Plot

Synopsis

Torchwood encounter an alien, Adam, who has the ability of memory manipulation. By implanting false memories into each team member, making them believe they have known him for three years, Adam's manipulation changes the team dramatically: Gwen loses all memory of Rhys, Jack is haunted by memories of his lost brother Gray, from whom he was separated as a child on the Boeshane Peninsula, Toshiko has become more confident and believes that she and Adam are in love, and Owen has been manipulated into thinking he is more or less a geek in comparison to his actual self, and madly in love with Toshiko.

After reading his diary, Ianto becomes disturbed when he notices there is no mention of Adam. Adam confronts him and implants false memories into Ianto’s mind, leading Ianto to believe he is a serial killer. Jack returns to find Ianto deeply upset but refuses to believe that Ianto is a killer. The pair search Torchwood's files, discovering the truth after seeing footage of Adam implanting the memories into the team. Jack discovers that the team needs to take amnesia pills, to erase their memories of the past forty-eight hours. He gathers the team and asks each person to try to recall who they really are. Each member takes their pill, Owen looking at Tosh and giving a small smile.

Nevada (1927 film)

Nevada is a 1927 American Western silent film directed by John Waters and starring Gary Cooper, Thelma Todd, and William Powell. Based on the novel Nevada by Zane Grey, the film is about a former outlaw hired to protect a ranch owner's daughter, which angers the ranch foreman who is in love with the girl. The villainous foreman spreads a rumor of his rival's dark past to the sheriff, and the former outlaw is soon on the run again. Eventually he captures a gang of cattle rustlers led by the foreman, and with his reputation restored, he marries the girl. This lavish Western film was remade in 1944 as Nevada starring Robert Mitchum—the only time Cooper and Mitchum played the same role.

Nevada still survives in a complete copy, but the film's appearance is not the best, due probably to poor preservation. It is possible to make out scenes, but not as well as other highly restored silent films. This was a very early Western role for Gary Cooper, but his fame in Westerns would be more noticeable in talking pictures.

Plot

Brenneman plays "Chrysty", a woman with a past who arrives on foot to the small town of Silver City, Nevada. There, she meets the women of the town, all but one of whom accept her. However, "McGill", played by Kirstie Alley, is suspicious, and doesn't stop until she discovers Chrysty's past.

McGill finds out Chrysty's telephone number, and calls her home, to find out that Chrysty left behind her husband and three children in Idaho. She tells her husband where she is so he can come and pick her up. Meanwhile, Chrysty, who had planned on continuing, finds herself settling into the town, getting a job and a house. When her husband arrives with the children, she explains why she ran away, and they all accept that and go home. At that time, Chrysty also decides to move on, and leaves behind her new friends.
