Anthony Conrad Nesty (born November 25, 1967) is a former competition swimmer from Suriname who was an Olympic gold medalist in the 100-metre butterfly event in 1988.
Anthony Nesty was born in Trinidad in 1967, the youngest of five children in his family. Nesty's family migrated to Suriname when he was seven months old, and he started swimming at the age of 5. Nesty trained and competed in Suriname and the Caribbean through the beginning of his teenage years. After placing twenty-first in the 100-metre butterfly at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, Nesty erolled in The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida, a prep school with an athletic program known for training elite, world-class swimmers. While training under Bolles coach Gregg Troy, Nesty broke the prep school 100-yard butterfly record held by Pablo Morales. Breaking Morales's record was the beginning of prominent successes for Nesty. He graduated from the Bolles School in 1987.
Nesty "La Mente Maestra" (born Ernesto F. Padilla on September 5, 1973) is a Puerto Rican reggaeton music producer. He is currently signed with Machete Music. He was closely associated with reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel and reggaeton producer Victor "El Nasi".
Nesty began his recording career as an associate of reggaeton hitmakers Luny Tunes during the early to mid-2000s. Known simply as Nesty, he made a name for himself apart from Luny Tunes with a pair of hit singles in 2005: "Chulin Culin Chunfly" (Voltio ft. Calle 13) and "Eso Ehh...!!" (Alexis & Fido).
In 2006, Nesty produced tracks for high-profile albums by Don Omar (King of Kings) and Tego Calderón (The Underdog/El Subestimado), including the hit single "Los Maté" by the latter. Around this same time, Nesty began a close association with Wisin & Yandel, producing much of their album Los Vaqueros, including the hit singles "Pegao," "Yo Te Quiero," and "Nadie Como Tú." In subsequent years he remained closely associated with Wisin & Yandel, producing the bulk of their album Wisin vs. Yandel: Los Extraterrestres, including the chart-topping hit single "Sexy Movimiento," and Wisin & Yandel Presentan: La Mente Maestra in which he was co-billed on the front cover of the latter album. On May 19 it was confirmed that Nesty would not participate in the re-edition of the album Los Vaqueros: El Regreso, named Reloaded.
Daddy was always an honest man
He spoke with his heart and helped with his hands
There wasn't a stranger he didn't soon know
I watched him build bridges wherever he'd go
Daddy was a farmer, always out in the field
We never had money, but there was always a meal
He counted his blessings and the Bible he read
I'll never outgrow the words that he said
CHORUS:
If I possessed all the wealth in the world
It would not be enough to survive
When I look in the eyes of my children and wife
I can see I've been given the finer things in life
Now I'm a daddy with two little ones
The first a shy princess, then a curious son
Well, they never knew their Grandpa too well
But his message of love I'll continue to tell
(CHORUS)
