Neil Harrison

Neil Harrison is a British musician and dramatist. He was a founder-member of The Beatles tribute band, The Bootleg Beatles, in which he played John Lennon. He was replaced by Adam Hastings in 2011. He went to the University of Sheffield and was a flat mate with Brodie Pevans.

The Bootleg Beatles

Following the final show of the West End musical Beatlemania, which Harrison joined at the age of 28, Harrison formed The Bootleg Beatles with fellow cast members Andre Barreau and David Catlin-Birch. The band invested their dwindling finances in two guitars - an Epiphone and a Gretsch - as well as two Vox amplifiers, four black polo-necks and a wig.

Harrison has stated that there have been three occasions when he has met original members of The Beatles.

His first experience was in 1968, when he and some friends sang Christmas carols outside Paul McCartney's father's house on the Wirral.

The second meeting was in 1996 at David Gilmour's 50th birthday party. Gilmour booked both the Bootleg Beatles and the Australian Pink Floyd Show as he'd "always wanted to have the Beatles support Pink Floyd". George Harrison was in the audience and quipped "you probably know the chords better than I do" and "Where's the Bootleg Brian Epstein? 'Cos he's got all the money!".

Neil Harrison (curler)

Neil Gordon "Harry" Harrison (January 23, 1949 – February 24, 2014) was a Canadian curler from Newmarket, Ontario. He was a six-time provincial champion, and two-time Canadian and World champion. He is considered to be one of the best leads of all time. He is recognized as having revolutionized the position with the use of the corner guard.

Biography

Harrison was born in Peterborough, Ontario on January 23, 1949 and began curling at age 12. Harrison's father Burritt was also a curler, having played lead for Ontario at the 1952 Macdonald Brier. Harrison also grew up in Peterborough.

Neil Donald Harrison (born 16 April 1962, Wolverhampton) is a top ranking cricket umpire based in Japan. He is one of two members of the International Cricket Council (ICC) East Asia Pacific Elite Umpires Panel from Japan.

Harrison umpired four matches at the 2009 Women's Cricket World Cup.
