    Synopsis

Jonathan Starling is a very unlucky and shy teen. He doesn’t really have a social life and lives by himself due to his dad’s strange illness. Or, at least that was his happy life in “Lightside”. He had nearly been kidnapped by a bounty hunter and taken to the very mysterious place known as Darkside. Since he has been attacked by a werewolf, been close to being stabbed with a knife and swam in the “pool of pain”. Meanwhile back in Lightside, Detectives are trying to put the puzzle pieces together and find the kidnapper of Jonathan. Also, Ricky Thomas has been taken there and has been demanded to fight Jackyl's. Just what is the real reason that they are in Darkside? Grimshaw and Vendetta may have something to say about that. But is it that obvious?

    Darkside (band)

Darkside (often stylized as DARKSIDE) is the collaboration of electronic musician Nicolas Jaar and Brooklyn multi-instrumentalist Dave Harrington.

    History

    Formation and early projects

Jaar and Harrington first met while they were both students at Brown University. Harrington was recommended to Jaar by frequent collaborator Will Epstein when he was looking for a third musician for his live band, with the three subsequently touring together to support Jaar's 2011 album Space Is Only Noise. Darkside first formed during a Berlin stop on this tour. Jaar and Harrington were writing in their hotel room together when their converter plug popped, filling their room with smoke and forcing them to finish the song in the hallway on a laptop. Upon returning to New York, they continued to write together, developing their sound in their Brooklyn studio.

Their first release as Darkside, the three-song Darkside EP, was released on November 17, 2011 via Clown & Sunset. It was well received critically, receiving positive reviews from several publications including The Fader and Resident Advisor, as well as an 8.0 from Pitchfork. Jaar has described the project as blues-oriented and more guitar influenced than his previous work, stating in an interview with i-D magazine that Darkside is "the closest thing to rock & roll I've ever done."Stereogum has described the duo's sound as "dubbed-out jazzbo junkyard fuzz."

    Necrophobic

Necrophobic is a Swedish death metal band formed in 1989 by drummer Joakim Sterner and now-deceased guitarist David Parland. It is believed that the band named themselves after a Slayer song from the 1986 seminal album Reign in Blood. The pair played with a 'revolving door' line-up of musicians until the permanent addition of bassist Tobias Sidegård. This addition occurred prior to recording their debut 7" Single, The Call, in early 1992.

With this line up and the addition of Anders Strokirk on vocals who replaced Stefan Harrvik (who had sung on the Unholy Prophecies demo and The Call 7" EP) the band entered Sunlight Studio in March 1993 and recorded the debut The Nocturnal Silence album. The band had previously worked with the Wild Rags label and store for its singles.

Following the addition of second guitarist Martin Halfdahn, Necrophobic released a four-song extended play, Spawned by Evil, in 1996. This was a teaser for the full-length release, Darkside, which came out later that same year. This album featured a guest appearance by Jon Nödtveidt of Dissection on the song Nailing the Holy One. The Third Antichrist was released in fall 2000 through Black Mark Production. A switch to Hammerheart Records led to Bloodhymns. In 2006, Necrophobic released Hrimthursum on Regain Records/Candlelight USA, and Death to All was issued in May 2009 and won the title of the Album Of The Month on Metallian.com Webzine. This album was the band's second for Regain Records. Necrophobic also released Satanic Blasphemies on Regain records, which is a compilation of their early material. The Slow Asphyxiation and Unholy Prophecies demos are featured, as well as The Call 7" EP.

    Reign in Blood

Reign in Blood is the third studio album and major label debut by American thrash metal band Slayer. It was released on October 7, 1986, on Def Jam Recordings. The album was the band's first collaboration with record producer Rick Rubin, whose input helped the band's sound evolve. Reign in Blood was well received by both critics and fans, and was responsible for bringing Slayer to the attention of a mainstream metal audience. Kerrang! magazine described the record as "the heaviest album of all". Alongside Anthrax's Among the Living, Megadeth's Peace Sells... but Who's Buying? and Metallica's Master of Puppets, Reign in Blood helped define the sound of the emerging US thrash metal scene in the 1980s, and has remained influential subsequently.

Reign in Blood's release was delayed because of concerns regarding its graphic artwork and lyrical subject matter. The opening track, "Angel of Death", which refers to Josef Mengele and describes acts, such as human experimentation, that Mengele committed at the Auschwitz concentration camp, provoked allegations of Nazism. However, the band stated numerous times that it does not condone Nazism, and are merely interested in the subject. The album was Slayer's first to enter the Billboard 200; the release peaked at #94, and was certified Gold on November 20, 1992.

    Darkside

    Satan take my soul!
    Darkness spreads around me
    Black is all I see
    Awaiting the final silence
To which I'll bound forever be
A will to fall deeper within
My dark subconscious tells me so
    I'm longing for eternity
    In his nocturnal domain
I call upon the dark Lord
His glowing eyes will show me the way
Lead me through the gates of Hell
    Far beyond all weaker life
His evil words are possessing me
Forcing me to release my blood
I feel my life slowly fading
    Soon I'll be with you
From the visions of my dreams
    Rise the demons from below
    I vanish into afterlife
Where the damned will cleanse my soul
    Embraced by darkness
    The burning kingdom welcomes me
I hear it whisper my name
    From the darker side
    Darkside - heal me
    Darkside - heal me
    When entering the darkside
    There is no return
    The horned master we obey
In the fire where we burn
    Darkside - heal me
    Darkside - heal me
    Down the depths of Hell
    By the throne of blasphemy
I lust for the unholy flame
I'm one with the dark eternally
On the darkside I am healed
By the flowing river of blood
Now I belong to the evil below
