I Need Drugs is the debut studio album by American hip hop musician Necro, released on November 7, 2000 by Psycho+Logical-Records. This album maintains emphasis on both his violence and sex themes, rather than focusing on one or the other such as in his 2001 album Gory Days and his 2005 album The Sexorcist, respectively. The album spawned one single, "The Most Sadistic", and a music video for the title track. The CD is speculated to be out of print.
The album contains 13 studio tracks and three radio freestyles. Seven of the studio tracks from the album were previously released on the "Get on Your Knees" single and the Necro EP. Featured guests on the album include Necro's brother Ill Bill and Mr. Hyde.
I Need Drugs contains many Necro classics, all of which showcase notable styles Necro refers to as "gore" ("Your Fuckin' Head Split"), "sex" ("Get on Your Knees") and "violence" ("The Most Sadistic").
A controversial music video was made for the aforementioned title track, which depicts Necro's uncle and a friend shooting heroin and smoking crack cocaine while Necro performs the song.
"The Most Sadistic" and "Fuck You to the Track" were subsequently remixed since this release, in 2003 for Rare Demos and Freestyles Volume 1 and 2005 for Rare Demos and Freestyles Vol. 2 respectively. An alternate mix of "Rugged Shit" was also released in 2003 on Rare Demos & Freestyles Vol. 3.
The track "Your Fucking Head Split" contains a sample from the soundtrack of The Amazing Spider-Man.
The track "Cockroaches" contains a sample from the 1983 film Scarface

In 2009, Fangoria named it as an iconic horrorcore album.[3]
The All Music Guide ran a review by critic Jon Azpiri planning the album. He stated that "the album's unwavering desire to shock us is what makes it so boring" and that "the production is remarkably bland."[1]

"I Need Drugs" is the title track of Necro's debut studio album, I Need Drugs. It is the third track on the album and also the most drug-inspired song on the album. A re-make of the hip hop musician LL Cool J's "I Need Love", it turns the original song, in which the narrator laments his regrets for playing women and now seeks a meaningful relationship, on its head by presenting a drug abuser praising his crack cocaine addiction.
A music video for the song was directed by Necro himself, who had previously filmed two short films entitled 187 Reasonz Y and The Devil Made Me Do it, in 2000. The video depicts people shooting heroin and smoking crack cocaine while he performs the song. It also features Necro's blood uncle, Howard Tenenbaum, better known as "Uncle Howie". The video was partially filmed in Uncle Howie's apartment, on a Hi8, and edited using Avid Technology.
The video is available on the DVD included with the special edition of Gory Days. It was also released in small quantities by Necro Pictures on the I Need Drugs Music Video, a short film featuring the music video, backed with a performance at New York City's Brownie's and four freestyle skits, in 2000.
[Verse One: Necro]
Cockroaches
Billions greeting, roaming around since Genesis
Coming out through the crevices
Infested, walls filled with termites
Bugs in the drawer, looking for food
Coming out when there's no light!
They're small, but they make humans nervous
You'll do a spastic jerk if you spot one crawling on your epidermis
If you squeamish, you're save provided,
When you sleep you keep your mouth closed, cause yo they might crawl up inside it
Uninvited, from out the Earth's core
Bugs are the only species that'll probably survive a nuclear war
And as you snore, they like to run through your door
Then explore, you won't notice when they're on your upside down floor
Schemin', he sees food and calls his boys in,
but some ain't smart enough to evade the exterminator's poison
So the pest takes it back to his nest
contacting with another insect it begins to infect the rest
A lot die, but it's only a small fraction - we can't catch 'em
'cause there's always new eggs hatchin'
[Chorus One:]
COCKROACHES!
*Cut and scratched by the DJ*
Cockroach (3X)
[Verse Two: Necro]
Cockroaches, many perceive as evil
But if you're from the projects, them niggas are like the people!
They sleep with you, eat with you, listen to beats with you
Thousands lounging in your couch form armies that reproduce
They conceive their crew, roaches got there own army
generals, colonels, lieutenant, invading tenants
Your crib becomes a big roach motel, for all sorts of bugs
Poor homes for that can't afford carpet get a free cockroach rug!
From out the cupboards, crawling into crisis
I got baby roaches inside my food cartons camouflaged as spices
Once by accident, I ate 'em with my rice kid
Cause, when you're hungry you don't think twice kid
Yo there ain't a person on Earth that never ate an insect,
Cause every food warehouse in the US they infest
I used to give roaches funeral pyres -
wrap 'em up in toilet paper still alive and light em on fire!
So watch out, they'll come to get you with militias,
throwin' poop parties up in your sink, swimming up to your dishes
[Chorus Two]
*Cut and scratched by the DJ*
Cockroach (2X)
*Whispered in the background*
Cockroaches...
Cockroaches...
Cockroaches...
Cockroaches...
