Nap

A nap is a short period of sleep, typically taken during daylight hours as an adjunct to the usual nocturnal sleep period. Naps are most often taken as a response to drowsiness during waking hours. Cultural attitudes toward napping during the work day vary. In many Western cultures, children and the elderly are expected to nap during the day and are provided with designated periods and locations to do so. In these same cultures, most working adults are not expected to sleep during the day and napping on the job is widely considered unacceptable. Other cultures (especially those in hot climates) serve their largest meals at midday, with allowance for a nap period (siesta) afterwards before returning to work.

Benefits

Napping was found to be both physiologically and psychologically beneficial. Napping for 20 minutes can help refresh the mind, improve overall alertness, boost mood and increase productivity. Napping may benefit the heart. In a six-year study of Greek adults, researchers found that men who took naps at least three times a week had a 37 percent lower risk of heart-related death.

Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service

The Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service (NAPS) is the police agency for Nishnawbe-Aski Nation (NAN). The agency has 134 First Nations Constables who have the powers of police officers in Ontario. They are assigned to 35 detachments in NAN communities. Mr. Terry Armstrong was appointed Chief of Police effective September 3, 2013.

NAPS is the largest First Nations police agency in Canada and the second largest in North America. NAPS is responsible for a jurisdiction that includes two-thirds of Ontario, a land area approximately the size of France. NAPS receives 48% of its funding from the government of Ontario, and 52% from the government of Canada.

History

The Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service was formed on January 14, 1994 through a tri-partite agreement between the governments of Canada, Ontario, and the Nishnawbe-Aski Nation. The primary goal of the agreement is the establishment of an aboriginal agency to provide efficient, effective and culturally appropriate policing to the Nishnawbe-Aski communities.

Cabin (truck)

The cabin or cab of a truck is an enclosed space in a truck where the driver is seated. Modern long-haul trucks cabs usually feature air conditioning, heater, a good sound system, and ergonomic seats (often air-suspended).

A sleeper (or sleeper berth or bunk) is a compartment attached to the cab where the driver can rest while not driving, sometimes seen in semi-trailer trucks. They can range from a simple 2 to 4 foot (0.6 to 1.2 m) bunk to a 12 foot (3.7 m) apartment-on-wheels. There are a few possible cab configurations:

  • Cab over engine (COE) or flat nose, where the driver is seated on top of the front axle and the engine. The front doors are typically in front of and above the front tires. This design is almost ubiquitous in Europe, where overall truck lengths are strictly regulated. They were common in the United States and Canada but such body style in heavy duty type trucks lost prominence, when the legally permitted length was extended in the early 1980s. Nevertheless, COE's are still popular among medium and light duty trucks in the United States. To access the engine, the whole cab tilts forward, earning this design the name of tilt-cab. This type of cab is especially suited to the delivery conditions in Europe where many roads follow the layout of much more ancient path and trackways which require the additional turning capability of the cab over engine type. The operating conditions of these vehicles tend to be cooler than the conventional cab design and so the increased engine surface area used for cooling in hotter climates is not required. Access to a COE cab is commonly by steps forward of the front tires.
  • Cab (song)

"Cab" is a song written and recorded by the American rock band, Train. It was released in November 2005 as the lead single from the band's fourth studio album, For Me, It's You, and was produced by Brendan O'Brien. It peaked higher on the charts than the two other radio singles from the album, "Give Myself to You" and "Am I Reaching You Now".

    Background

According to Train's lead singer and frontman Pat Monahan, "Cab" and "All I Ever Wanted" were the first two songs written for the album. inspired by the emotions he felt following his divorce to ex-wife Ginean Rapp in 2004:

Monahan has likened "Cab" to being "the metaphoric song on the album". adding:

In an interview with VH1's Aaron Cummins, then-bass guitarist Johnny Colt of the Black Crowes reflected on the recording process of the track:

    Reviews

The song received mostly mixed reviews by critics. Allmusic gave it a positive review, saying that the piano part is "worthy of one of Billy Joel's finest songs", and that it used "painterly synth, strummed acoustic guitars, and a killer string arrangement". It also said that it was "a fine song, but it's not the best one" on the album.Rolling Stone mentions it among the highlights of the album, saying it is "a wintry and moving vehicular metaphor".

    Cab (Transformers)

Cab is a fictional character from the Transformers series introduced in 1988. He is a kid character in the Japanese anime series Transformers: Super-God Masterforce. He should not be confused with the Autobot Hosehead, who looks similar.

    Animated series

Go Shooter and his friends Cab and Minerva become Headmaster juniors in episode #4 "Birth! Headmaster Juniors."

During a desert battle with Overlord, God Bomber revealed an unexpected ability by reconfiguring his components into a robot mode in response to Ginrai's threat. Later, the Headmaster Juniors discovered that they could control Godbomber in both of his modes by uniting their own Chokon Power, together matching the level used by Ginrai to control him.

With Black Zarak's return to Earth and subsequent merging with Devil Z, God Ginrai was forced into a final battle with the hybrid entity. He succeeded in decapitating the villain, but Black Zarak then assumed a new hydra alternate mode, which God Ginrai destroyed with his God Fire Guts attack. With the added power of the Headmaster Juniors from within his God Bomber components, God Ginrai then executed the almighty Final Fire Guts attack, destroying Devil Z. With the energy-being's destruction, Ginrai and the other humans were separated from their Transtectors, who continued to exist as true robot lifeforms, having evolved real personalities through their partnership with humans. The newly-born Transformers then departed Earth to pursue the surviving Decepticons back into space.

    by: The Cab

    Darling you look
    Dressing you up, come by
    You're depressed and moaning
A cheap dress, diamonds on your neck
    Pull the lies that I've...
I loved you, and trusted you
But the way you live is wrong.
So please do not be late
    How can you demonstrate
The way I sing this song.
    So baby sell your soul
    Into the fashion show
Your heels are clicking to the sound of this currency
    So stomp this down again
    Just let this show begin
Your hips and thighs show signs of urgency
    I wanna feel you,
I wanna be at the door
I want to lend you a helping hand.
But when I see you (but when I see you)
I'm not sure, I'm holding back as you walk away
    Just twirl them might hips
    Inside the musicals
Your nails are scratching at the plaster
    Apply that ?
    You're gonna win again
Kick that life that he has shattered.
    I wanna feel you,
I wanna be at the door
I want to lend you a helping hand.
But when I see you (but when I see you)
I'm not sure, I'm holding back as you walk away
Wake up, you've got a long way to go
Your insecurities have stolen this show
Behind the veins and the dark we lie eyes
It's daddy's girl with a force of fed lies.
