Nailed are a death metal band from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, UK. They are currently signed to Anticulture Records, who have worldwide distribution through Plastic Head.
Nailed was formed in the year 2000 by vocalist John Robson, drummer Garth Wray and guitarist Phil Rayner formerly of In Dying Grace. They were joined by Mass Firth on guitar and vocals formerly of bands Blasphemer, Dominion (signed to Peaceville Records) and Ebony Lake (signed to Cacophonous Records) and Simon Watson on bass. After John Robson departed from the band he was replaced on vocals by Andy Whittaker.
Their first recording was undertaken in January 2001 entitled Every Possible Uglyness. Since then they have recorded one more demo / EP, entitled Calculated Act Of Murder (2002), and two full-length albums (A Pure World Is a Dead World in 2005 and Hatred, Failure & the Extinction of Mankind in 2008). During this period the band has seen the departure of Simon Watson in 2004, Andy Whittaker in 2006 and Paul Cuthbert (guitar) in 2007, being replaced by Dan Cocker on bass and main vocals and Jim Knights on guitar (formerly of Manchester based band Incassum).
Accidental Love is a 2015 American comedy film directed by David O. Russell (under a pseudonym) and written by Russell, Kristin Gore, Dave Jeser, and Matt Silverstein, from the novel Sammy's Hill by Gore. The film stars Jessica Biel, Jake Gyllenhaal, Catherine Keener, James Marsden, Tracy Morgan and James Brolin.
The story is about Alice, a small-town waitress who is accidentally shot in the head by a nail gun. Her lack of health insurance renders her unable to have the nail removed, leading to mood swings and hypersexual behavior as a result of brain damage. Alice then heads to Washington, DC to campaign for those with bizarre injuries, with the support of an unprincipled Congressman.
Production started in 2008 under the title Nailed, but filming was frequently halted due to financial difficulties, leading to Russell quitting the project in 2010. The film was completed without his involvement and Russell has since disowned it, the finished product credited to "Stephen Greene". The film was released on February 10, 2015, before a limited release on March 20, 2015 by Millennium Entertainment.Accidental Love was panned by critics.
