Åram

Åram is a village in Vanylven Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The village is located on the mainland, about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) straight north of the municipal centre of Fiskåbygd. The village has a ferry quay with regular connections to the nearby islands of Kvamsøya, Voksa, and Gurskøya. Åram Church is located in the village.

Åram and all of the mainland for about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) in all directions was formerly a part of Sande Municipality until 1 January 2002 when it was administratively transferred to Vanylven.

The local football club is Åram/Vankam FK.

RealAudio

RealAudio is a proprietary audio format developed by RealNetworks and first released in April 1995. It uses a variety of audio codecs, ranging from low-bitrate formats that can be used over dialup modems, to high-fidelity formats for music. It can also be used as a streaming audio format, that is played at the same time as it is downloaded. In the past, many internet radio stations used RealAudio to stream their programming over the internet in real time. In recent years, however, the format has become less common and has given way to more popular audio formats. RealAudio was heavily used by the BBC websites until 2009, though it was discontinued due to its declining use. BBC World Service, the last of the BBC websites to use RealAudio, discontinued its usage in March 2011.

File extensions

RealAudio files were originally identified by a filename extension of .ra (for Real Audio). In 1997, RealNetworks also began offering a video format called RealVideo. The combination of the audio and video formats was called RealMedia and used the file extension .rm. However, the latest version of RealProducer, Real's flagship encoder, reverted to using .ra for audio-only files, and began using .rv for video files (with or without audio), and .rmvb for VBR video files. The .ram (Real Audio Metadata) and .smil (Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language) file formats are sometimes encountered as links from web pages (see Streaming Audio section below).

Goat (zodiac)

The Goat (Chinese: 羊; pinyin: yáng) is the eighth sign of the 12-year cycle of animals that appear in the Chinese zodiac related to the Chinese calendar. The sign is also referred to as the Ram or Sheep sign, since the Chinese word yáng is more accurately translated as Caprinae, a taxonomic subfamily which includes both sheep and goats.

The Year of the Goat (alternatively, Year of the Ram or Year of the Sheep) is associated with the 8th Earthly Branch symbol, 未 (wèi).

Goat or Sheep

The Chinese word yáng refers both to goats and sheep, with shānyáng specifically goats and miányáng sheep. In English, the sign (originally based on a horned animal) may be called either. The interpretation of sheep or goat depends on culture. In Vietnamese, the sign is mùi, which is unambiguously goat. In Japan, on the other hand, the sign is hitsuji, sheep; while in Korea and Mongolia the sign is also sheep or ram. Within China, there may be a regional distinction with the zodiacal yáng more likely to be thought of as a goat in the south, while tending to be thought of as a sheep in the north.

Nadia

Nadia is a female name that means 'hope', used predominantly in Italy, Spain, Greece, Romania, France, Russia, Portugal, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia, Ukraine, Bulgaria and some countries in the Middle East, such as Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, Morocco, Algeria, Persia and Oman. Its origins are in the Slavic and Ancient Greek languages. Variations include: Nadja, Nadya, Nadine, Nadiya, Nadiyya, Nadija and Nadiyeh .

In the case of the Slavic languages, the name Nadia is the word for "hope" in most of South Slavic languages, Nadiya (Надія, accent on the "i") is the Ukrainian word for "hope", while Nadzeya (Надзея, accent on the "e") is the equivalent in Belarusian, or Old Polish Nadzieja all of them derived from Old East Slavic. In Bulgarian and Russian, on the other hand, Nadia or Nadya (Надя, accent on first syllable) is the diminutive form of the full name Nadyezhda (Надежда), which also means "hope" and derives from Old Church Slavonic, it in turn, being a translation of the Greek word ελπίς (Elpis), with the same meaning.

Nadia district

Nadia district (Pron: nɔd̪iːaː) (Bengali: নদীয়া জেলা) is a district of the state of West Bengal, in eastern India. It borders Bangladesh to the east, North 24 Parganas and Hooghly districts to the south, Bardhaman to the west, and Murshidabad to the north.

History

Nabadwip♢, a town in Nadia district, is often referred to as “Oxford of Bengal”.Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (b.1486–d.1534) was born in Nabadwip. One of the Indian schools of logic (tarkashastra) called Navya Nyaya system was developed in Nabadwip, which produced great logicians in the 15th century Nabadwip was an important seat of political power in Bengal under Ballal Sen and later Lakshman Sen, kings of the Sena Empire, who ruled from 1159 to 1206. In 1202, Nabadwip was captured by Bakhtiyar Khilji. This victory paved the way for Muslim rule in Bengal. Nabadwip and some other places in Nadia were centres of learning and intellectual prowess. . It was the place where Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, a major Hindu saint, was born and lived. The religious atmosphere of Nabadwip is a combination of Vaishnava, Shakta, Buddhist, Shaiva. The main festival of Nabadwip is "Rash Utsab" (Rasa lila). It is also known as "Pat Purnima" or "Rash Kali Puja" or "Shakta Rash". The varieties of Baishnaba, Shakta, Saiba Pratima (Idols) attracts every one.

Nadia (Iraqi TV series)

Nadia is an Iraqi TV series, consisting of thirty episodes, directed by Salah Karam and starring Iraqi actors Hassan Hosni and Amel Senan, about a man named Adel (Hosni) who falls deeply in love with a girl he meets; a girl who he soon learns is prone to sudden and mystifying disappearances, seemingly at random. Adding to Adel's growing confusion, everyone around him, including his family and closest friends, steadfastly deny the very existence of any such girl in his life, insisting, sometimes forcefully, that she is a mere figment of his infatuation, a projection by his damaged psyche of the idealized woman. Following the events of the series and the revelation of a complex conspiracy, seemingly organized by the owner of the hotel where the conspirators meet and plot (played by Iraqi artist Wajeeh Abdul-Ghani), Adel's 'idealized projection' reveals her name to be 'Nadia'...
