NS Basic

NS Basic is a family of development tools for the mobile devices developed and commercially marketed by NSBASIC Corporation in Toronto, Canada for iOS, Android, BlackBerry OS, WebOS, Newton OS, Palm OS, Windows CE, Windows Mobile and Microsoft Windows.

History

NS BASIC Corporation was founded in 1993 to provide easy to use development tools for mobile devices. The manufacturers and licensors of the operating systems usually supply a C++ based tool aimed at highly skilled professional developers. NS BASIC provides an alternative using the JavaScript or Basic programming language, similar to Visual Basic. Key developers include George Henne, Marcus Darden, James Kruth, Eric Pepke and Dan Rowley.

As of 2015, NS Basic's tools are used by almost 500,000 developers in over 80 countries.

AppStudio

AppStudio was released in December, 2010. It consists of an IDE, a programming language and a deploy module. The IDE and programming language are modeled on Microsoft's Visual Basic: virtually the entire VBscript syntax is implemented. The runtime environment is based on JavaScript, HTML5 and WebKit: many of the features of the underlying technologies is exposed to the AppStudio environment. Programming can be done in Basic or JavaScript. PhoneGap and jQuery Mobile are fully integrated. The programs produced by NS Basic/App Studio are Web apps.

Basicò

Basicò is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Messina in the Italian region Sicily, located about 150 kilometres (93 mi) east of Palermo and about 45 kilometres (28 mi) southwest of Messina. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 730 and an area of 12.0 square kilometres (4.6 sq mi).

Basicò borders the following municipalities: Montalbano Elicona, Tripi.

Basic (dance move)

The basic step, basic movement, basic pattern, or simply basic is the dance move that defines the character of a particular dance. It sets the rhythm of the dance; it is the default move to which a dancer returns, when not performing any other moves. For some dances it is sufficient to know the basic step performed in different handholds and dance positions to enjoy it socially.

Most traditional partner dances have only one basic step which can be easily mastered. Others, such as West Coast Swing, have multiple basic steps, any of which can theoretically be selected by the leader.

There are several variants of the Basic Movement in Cha-cha-cha: Basic, Open Basic, Basic in Place. Each of them may also be subdivided into a Forward and a Backward ones.
