NSG, or NOD scid gamma (NOD.Cg-Prkdcscid Il2rgtm1Wjl/SzJ), is a strain of inbred laboratory mice, among the most immunodeficient described to date. NSG mice lack mature T cells, B cells, and natural killer (NK) cells. NSG mice are also deficient in multiple cytokine signaling pathways, and they have many defects in innate immunity. The compound immunodeficiencies in NSG mice permit the engraftment of a wide range of primary human cells, and enable sophisticated modeling of many areas of human biology and disease. NSG mice were developed in the laboratory of Dr. Leonard Shultz at The Jackson Laboratory.

C. R. Licklider's "The Computer as a Communication Device" of 1968). According to the fifth edition of The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language the plural can be either "mice" or "mouses".

The toyline is notorious for the way Hasbro eliminated the old O-ring hip system that allowed a figure to sustain the legs and provided the figure's hip articulation point, replaced by a simpler vessel for a twist peg inside the legs' frame. It is even more noticeable that the new scale used for the whole line is 4.5" instead of the classical 3.75".

The company began in 1979 in Orem, Utah as Novell Data Systems Inc. (NDSI), a hardware manufacturer producing CP/M-based systems. Former Eyring Research Institute (ERI) employee Dennis Fairclough was the member of the original team that started Novell Data Systems. It was co-founded by George Canova, Darin Field, and Jack Davis. Victor V. Vurpillat brought the deal to Pete Musser, chairman of the board of Safeguard Scientifics, Inc., who provided the seed funding.
