National Speech and Debate Association

The National Speech and Debate Association, (formerly the National Forensic League) is the largest interscholastic speech and debate organization serving middle school, high school, and college students in the United States. The Association provides competitive speech and debate activities, resources, training, scholarship opportunities, and advanced recognition to over 130,000 students and coaches every year.

The National Speech and Debate Association is the oldest and largest high school speech and debate honor society in the world. The Association is one of four major national organizations which direct high school competitive speech and debate events in the United States. The other three are the National Catholic Forensic League or NCFL, the National Christian Forensics and Communications Association or NCFCA, and Stoa.

The National Speech & Debate Association Board of Directors meets twice a year for rules revision. It votes on each rule change, which affects the entire high school forensics community.

The Finer Things In Life

by: New West

Daddy was always an honest man
He spoke with his heart and helped with his hands
There wasn't a stranger he didn't soon know
I watched him build bridges wherever he'd go
Daddy was a farmer, always out in the field
We never had money, but there was always a meal
He counted his blessings and the Bible he read
I'll never outgrow the words that he said
CHORUS:
If I possessed all the wealth in the world
It would not be enough to survive
When I look in the eyes of my children and wife
I can see I've been given the finer things in life
Now I'm a daddy with two little ones
The first a shy princess, then a curious son
Well, they never knew their Grandpa too well
But his message of love I'll continue to tell
(CHORUS)
