NMC Health

NMC (Arabic: مستشفى المركز الطبي الجديد‎) is a healthcare chain in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). NMC Health is headquartered in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, and has branch hospitals in Dubai and Sharjah and Al Ain. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.

History

NMC Health was founded by HE Abdulla Humaid Al-Mazroei and B R Shetty in 1975 as the "New Medical Centre" in Abu Dhabi. It went on to establish hospitals in Deira (Dubai) in 1999, Al-Nahda (Dubai) in 2004 and Al Ain in 2008. In 2012 it became listed on the London Stock Exchange. In 2015, NMC health acquires Clínica Eugin in a move to become the leading integrated women's health provider from fertility through obstetrics and paediatrics in the UAE.

Operations

In addition to hospitals and clinics, NMC Health also has businesses in trading, hospitality, pharmaceutical manufacturing, pharmacy chains, financial services, education, jewellery, advertising, real estate and information technology. NMC Health also owns, UAE Exchange (financial services) and Foodlands Restaurant in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. NMC Health sponsors a cricket team which won the Bukhatir League Cricket Tournament, the longest running in the UAE, in 2008 and previously in 1999.

Health

Health is the level of functional or metabolic efficiency of a living organism. In humans it is the ability of individuals or communities to adapt and self-manage when facing physical, mental or social challenges. The World Health Organization (WHO) defined health in its broader sense in its 1948 constitution as "a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." This definition has been subject to controversy, in particular as lacking operational value and because of the problem created by use of the word "complete" Other definitions have been proposed, among which a recent definition that correlates health and personal satisfaction. Classification systems such as the WHO Family of International Classifications, including the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) and the International Classification of Diseases (ICD), are commonly used to define and measure the components of health. Health is that balanced condition of the living organism in which the integral, harmonious performance of the vital functions tends to the preservation of the organism and the normal development of the individual.

Health (application)

Health is an application for iOS 8 and iOS 9 announced by Apple Inc. at their Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2014.

The application is intended to be a personal and central data collection point, for connected third-party electronic accessories and wearable technology, that can directly monitor and analyse an individual's biochemistry and physiology for medical and general fitness purposes.

It displays a dashboard of all the fitness and health data of the user, including the heart rate, calories burned, blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and other similar functions. Users can also use the Health app to create a Medical ID, an emergency card with important medical details and emergency details. The Medical ID is accessible from within the Health app or from the lock screen

Although the application is available in iOS 8 and iOS 9, it is currently only available on iPhone and iPod Touch, but not on iPad.

HealthKit

HealthKit is the accompanying developer application programming interface (API) included in the iOS SDK (Software Development Kit) for the Mac. It is used by software developers to design applications that have extensibility and that can interact with the Health application on iOS.

Health (Health album)

Health (also known unofficially as You Will Love Each Other) is the debut album by American noise rock band Health. The album was recorded at the Los Angeles club The Smell.

In 2014, NME listed the album as one of the 101 Albums To Hear Before You Die by listing it 68th.

NMC Music (Hebrew: אן אם סי‎) is an Israeli record label. It was established in 1964 as a subsidiary company of CBS, and became independent in 1988.

Among influential artist represented by NMC are: Mashina, Yehuda Poliker, Shlomi Shabat, Chava Alberstein, Ehud Banai, Meir Banai and T-Slam.

APC Smart-UPS

The Smart-UPS is a series of enterprise-level uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) made by American Power Conversion (APC). Most of the units have a SmartSlot (with the exception of SC and SMC series) which accepts an optional interface card providing features ranging from network connectivity to temperature and humidity monitoring. With the exception of RT and SRT series, Smart-UPS units are line-interactive UPS systems, only running their inverters when the grid power is unavailable.

Daspletosaurus

Daspletosaurus (/dæsˌpliːtəˈsɔːrəs/ das-PLEET-o-SAWR-əs; meaning "frightful lizard") is a genus of tyrannosaurid theropod dinosaur that lived in western North America between 77 and 74 million years ago, during the Late Cretaceous Period. Fossils of the only named species (D. torosus) were found in Alberta, although other possible species from Alberta and Montana await description. Including these undescribed species makes Daspletosaurus the most species-rich genus of tyrannosaur.

Daspletosaurus is closely related to the much larger and more recent Tyrannosaurus. Like most known tyrannosaurids, it was a multi-tonne bipedal predator equipped with dozens of large, sharp teeth. Daspletosaurus had the small forelimbs typical of tyrannosaurids, although they were proportionately longer than in other genera.

As an apex predator, Daspletosaurus was at the top of the food chain, probably preying on large dinosaurs like the ceratopsid Centrosaurus and the hadrosaur Hypacrosaurus. In some areas, Daspletosaurus coexisted with another tyrannosaurid, Gorgosaurus, though there is some evidence of niche differentiation between the two. While Daspletosaurus fossils are rarer than other tyrannosaurids', the available specimens allow some analysis of the biology of these animals, including social behavior, diet and life history.
