NFL Street 2

NFL Street 2 is American football video game developed by EA Sports BIG and published by Electronic Arts. It was originally released for the PlayStation 2, GameCube and Xbox on December 22, 2004. It features then-New York Giants tight end Jeremy Shockey and rapper Xzibit on the cover. The game is compatible with Madden NFL 2006, as players can import their Own The City players to it. The game's compatibility also extends to other EA games like Need for Speed: Underground 2, SSX 3, Madden NFL 2005, NCAA Football 2005, NFL Street, GoldenEye: Rogue Agent, NBA Live 2005, and NBA Street Vol. 2, where if players have these games on their memory cards, they can earn 25,000 points in the game.

It was later ported to the PlayStation Portable in 2005 under the name NFL Street 2 Unleashed.

Gameplay

One of the new features in NFL Street 2 is the addition of the Gamebreaker 2. The player first has to acquire 100,000 style points to unlock a gamebreaker and then without using their gamebreaker, acquire the same amount of style points again. When called at the line of scrimmage, A cutscene occurs in which on defense, the defense stylishly gets the ball back while on offense, the offense stylishly gets over the line of scrimmage. After the cutscene, the player enters a "god mode" in which he has unlimited turbo and will break all of his tackles.

NFL Street

NFL Street is an American football video game developed by EA Tiburon and published by Electronic Arts. It was originally released for the PlayStation 2, GameCube and Xbox on January 13, 2004. The game was followed by NFL Street 2 and NFL Street 3.

Gameplay

Similar to the Blitz series, Street is seven-on-seven American football, modeled roughly after its informal variant, street football. NFL Players in the game wear street clothing instead of helmets and uniforms (although the players can wear football jerseys). Like other American Football games, NFL Street has basic football rules, but no fouls and low penalty gameplay, naturally leading to much more intense gameplay than its real-life model. However, to maintain the "IronMan" status, there are no injuries in the game.

One important feature in the game is "style points", which the player can earn by successfully completing style moves (which includes making a huge play or taunting the other team during the game). Enough style points will earn the player a "Gamebreaker", which lasts for the entire drive. The Gamebreaker concept was taken from NBA Street.

NFL Street (series)

NFL Street is a series of sports video games developed by EA Tiburon and published by Electronic Arts. It combines the talent and big names of the NFL with the atmosphere of street football. It is much like the regular Madden NFL series, however plays are, in fact different.

History

Similar to the Blitz series, Street is seven-on-seven American football, modeled after its informal variant, street football. In the game, the player could create a team and complete challenges for rewards, play a pickup game with teams made from a pool of select NFL players, or just play a regular exhibition game.

NFL Street 2 is the first sequel to NFL Street, released on December 22, 2004, for the PlayStation 2, GameCube, Xbox, and later PlayStation Portable (under the name NFL Street 2: Unleashed). The game introduced new game modes such as Own The City, NFL Gauntlet, 4 on 4, and Crush the Carrier. It also introduced new wall moves (such as the wall juke), Gamebreaker 2’s, and several new playing fields.

NFL Street 3

NFL Street 3 is the third installment of the NFL Street series, released in November 2006 for the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable consoles. This installment featured more game modes and unlockable features than previous versions. Chad Johnson of the Cincinnati Bengals appears on the cover and was the official spokesperson of the game.

The game received "average" reviews, according to video game review aggregator Metacritic.
